For the past 2 years I’ve felt like a shell of my former self. I know that I can be a good communicator, organized and hard-working etc. but I feel like I’ve lost all motivation to try. It’s really impacting my job performance as I am not able to be proactive anymore. It’s also affecting my self confidence as I feel like I’m not useful to my team. It’s hard to find motivation since it feels like a vicious cycle. Also feeling very self conscious applying for new jobs knowing I am like this :(

How bad is it to decline a job offer you’ve accepted?

I have an offer now that is nice but not in my ideal industry. I did the phone screen and waiting on word if I proceed at a company and role that excite me. Problem is I need to sign by tomorrow and ofc there isn’t a guaranteed offer for the role that’s still in the interview process.

I had my second technical interview two weeks ago and I had emailed the recruiter to check for any progress on my application. I just received an email saying they want to talk to me over call. Should I be worried? Given the hiring freeze .. I am a little worked up. I mean, I would surely talk to her soon to know the situation but my anxiety is off the charts. Is this positive or negative ?

I moved to the Netherlands 3 months ago on a spouse visa. Was working with EY-P earlier. I have been applying to jobs and giving interviews but for some reason things are not working out. I get a different reason everytime (after going through the whole process). This has never happened earlier in life and now I don't know what else to do. 1.BCG is T1 in the region while Bain doesn't seem so. Do you confirm? And the trend?

2.Interviews/negotiations went great with Bain vs BCG more acrimonious. Does my experience reflect structural cultural differences (pressure, up or out, cutthroat)?

My last job was at a start-up and I truly hope it goes down in flames. They severely underpaid everyone, management was a dumpster fire on a good day, and they were all around terrible people who thought that giving us a coffee machine (that didn’t work half the time) was the greatest luxury and SO generous and a great reason to work there
