THE PLAGUE IS COMING FOR US

CBC is fake news! Canadian here

It’s not government run, it’s government subsidized. CBC is solid content. Probably leans a little left, much like Canada, national post is a little more conservative.

Advice needed!
I was laid off in Jan and since then I’ve been building my own practice (which I started last year and was doing on the side). Since Covid happened, work has been a lot slower so I started applying for jobs. I got two job offers in these past couple weeks, but the problem is that neither is in the area I want to practice, though the experience from one of them would be probably useful in the future. Ultimately I want to have my own practice, but my dilemma is that as a 3rd (cont.)

Unrelated to law, but need some advice on how to help a friend. One of my best friend’s dad is in the hospital in really bad shape. She’s home with her mom and siblings. I want to send food or do something for them, especially since they just found out they may have been exposed to covid when visiting their dad at the hospital (not by their dad), and they have to quarantine for 2 weeks. If I were closer I’d make food and drop it off, but they’re 200 miles away. Any ideas?

I want to cry right now. I have extreme anxiety about the city shutting down again. I was laid off of in 2020 and had to move home. Two immediate family members died (not of covid) and it was a year of extreme stress for me. I just moved back in August. Have a great job, in a happy relationship and am loving being in nyc. If we go back to having to stay in our apartments all day being judged for going out to eat, I feel like my mental health literally can’t handle it. Just had to vent.

Not feeling very optimistic about the year. It’s hard to describe, but I’m just so nervous with the Covid cases rising and entering another year of pandemic. Feels like life is a little bit on pause. Anyone else feeling this way?

Has anyone with covid had several days of fever at night and then fine in the morning? My father in law has had this for 6 days. Wakes up fine then starts to lose energy rapidly in the afternoon. At night high fever, sweating, and terrible chills. He had the Pfizer vaccine months ago, but maybe a breakthrough case? No other symptoms.

Last week, my coworker came into the office, maskless, but tested positive for Covid that same day. We had contact. I only found out they have Covid because I called them to discuss a project, and they casually mentioned it. Now I’m feeling sick and I have a baby to take care of at home, plus a couple of busy weeks coming up at work. Beyond furious. Who does that?? Obviously they knew they either had symptoms or exposure, hence the test.
