Did you also park under the Deloitte office and get hosed by the price this morning?đ
Buy a parking pass with your commute allowance. Too easy.
Park under the AT&T performing arts center. Early bird (in by 9 and out by 6) is only like $6
Not to be the bearer but I've been in Austin 13 years and in that time it's become more and more evident that no one should be working downtown unless parking is provided by an employer.
I'm curious, and I realize this isn't the answer you're seeking, just having the discussion; what has you having or wanting to be down there??
Sure it's a great city and fun place to be, but not just to office/work in a building anyway.
KPMG 1 D covers parking (plus ride share) up to $1,000 âtill end of calendar year. Historically, yes youâre correct.

I go to capitol visitors parking, itâs $12 daily.
Frost tower has an early bird special i think itâs like 18
I think itâs $13 - in by 9:00 out by 5:30 or something to that effect.
My firm started paying for our parking, but before I was using this pretty frequently.
try downloading the spothero app. it shows you see the cheapest parking nearby & you can schedule when you park too. i pay ~$18 for all day parking
Thatâs what I use as well, but still pricey especially if trying to go to the office a few times a week. Really wish they provided parking.
Most companies donât provide parking because itâs considered a taxable benefit. Iâm sure some Marxist scumbags are also pushing the anti electric car, pro public transportation agenda (believe me, itâs a real thing). What a lot of people do is park somewhere cheaper and slightly further away and then walk or electric scooter or hoverboard the âlast mileââŠ.
Or lobby your employer to subsidize it, taxes and all, or lobby your employer to give up the downtown digs because even slightly east of 35 or south of the river gives you way more parking and space with the added benefit of more authentic austin culture nearby. The culture aspect is one of the main reasons we built our office outside of the core downtown.
Why make the comment political in the first place? You must not have many friends lol
Take that parking money add the gas money and the rent money together and move downtown.
Youâre more than likely dropping more in parking + gas to drive to and from work + rent than you would be on rent in downtown alone. That is of course, if youâre not renting one room for $500.
Do a cost/benefit analysis on your personal situation
Motorcycle parking is free
work at the South Congress office. you can usually find free street parking across the street
I parked at the library when I used to work there. Not sure if you can still do that
lol are you me? Same exact situation
With all this being said, I can see how parking close to the office is a concern. Iâve been broken into on a weekend, I donât feel my vehicle is safe. So when I go to the office, Iâm thankful to have parking included near by or else I wouldnât do it. I wouldnât feel comfortable parking far and walking the last mile.
Yeah I never go into that Deloitte building unless I have to but until the end of the year you can use our commuting subsidy to pay for the Deloitte office parking. Can also use the subsidy to pay for an Uber to the office,
In the past, I found a friend that lets me park at their apartment for free and then I scootered to the office.
Itâs definitely a hassle.
If I get this S. Congress gig, going to train + bike it for sure...
Park by JW Marriot Convention Center Garage. It think itâs like $15 a day
Pre-pandemic I was a City Hall monthly contract Parker - it was the least expensive option. Might be worth looking into.
I used to work downtown near CC & Congress and I would park on the east side in the neighborhoods for free just east of I-35. I would just walk 15 minutes to the office from there. I considered buying my own personal folding e-scooter, but the walk was easy & short enough that I never felt I needed it.
Honestly I just use our 1,000 hybrid commuting expense to Uber/Lyft to downtown office. Much easier and faster to just do that without the parking headache
