How do you calculate productivity rates, especially within a multidisciplinary setting including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers? Our current productivity rate is 55% which upper leadership wants us to increase to as high as 80% (!). I should mention this is all fee for service/non capitated contracts.

Several years ago, I stopped teaching Shakespeare plays line for line. Instead, I have the kids do a variety of activities to learn the plot, the characters, the history, the language, the literary devices. We watch the plays. We read and analyze the important quotes, soliloquies, monologues, and dialogues. How many teachers out there are teaching Shakespeare differently than the old standard: read an act, take a quiz? And how is that working? Are students more engaged? Best strategies?

Finally, now that WFH is more accepted (thanks 2020), do you think more industries will “reimagine” this arbitrary 40+ hr. work week?

Some orgs tried/have proven to be more productive with less (e.g. 6hr work days, 4 day work weeks) but I don’t know if consulting leaders are enthusiastic about normalizing this since “it’s the land of billable hours”...

Just had a surgery to remove a lesion that had 40% chance of becoming cancer. I had a group text to keep family & friends informed. Nobody from family actually called to check on me. Five friends called to see how I was doing and feeling. Parents are deceased, I’m the youngest sibling (+5 to 8 years older) and the only one anybody keeps in contact with. Time to cut family? They obviously don’t care what’s going on in my life. One sibling never even responded.

I’ve been depressed on and off for about 7 years. I don’t remember what is considered normal anymore when it comes to motivation, emotions, etc. I’ve seen several psychiatrists and they all automatically jump to a diagnosis. I guess it’s easier to just throw medication at a patient who comes to you for help rather than listening. I haven’t been the same since taking meds and therapists don’t help with the way I’m feeling. I’m not really asking for anything here - damn it’s just so hard, idk why.

Anyone else have days where you just hate everything and are miserable, but then some days when everything is ok?
