so those are 2 pretty separate skill sets - digital strategy will have a very different role than a UX designer. which one are you looking to do?
At my firm, they’re sort of together. I think I’ll be more focused on Digital Strategy.
then I would really get to know new SaaS and modernization options, mobile options, and how to build a proper product roadmap. if we’re thinking of the same type of digital strategy, coding won’t necessarily be a required skill (although i was it wouldn’t hurt)
Yea I don’t think you need to know coding per se, but it’s really useful to be familiar with all the terminology!
For digital strategy, you need to understand revenue models and how to construct, prioritize, and test hypotheses. Familiarity with human centered design principles and agile product development will also be helpful. UX design typically requires much more mastery of specific tools, technologies, and methodologies to create well-designed experiences.
Basically, you can be a great digital strategy consultant without being a UX expert and vice versa. Different roles in the value chain.
