Slated for a promotion at work mid next year. Thinking of requesting a deferral at a school I was admitted to for this and other personal reasons - would schools likely see the potential promotion as a good enough reason to grant a deferral?

What ECs have you found that have best rounded out your profile? I’m struggling to find something where I can give back to the community while also displaying leadership qualities. Can someone explain the hidden risks of taking a variable v. Fixed cost loan for ~90K my first year?

Not informed enough about this, but if my variable 5 yr rate is 2% less than fixed, why would in not take that and then refinance for a longer term in 1-2 yrs? Am I missing something?

Am I crazy for not using an MBA consultant? My stats are okay and my story is good (3.2 T10 engineering undergrad, 710 gmat, 26yo manager in big4 consulting in a startup tech practice). I just can’t bring myself to spend that kind of money when there’s a 90% chance a sunk cost. My partner is RC at HBS and my mom helps interview at SOM so they’ve been helping me, but would love to hear stories about people who have/haven’t used them and how that went.
