5 year relationship. We each spend the day with our own moms. I text his mom happy Mother’s Day to let her know I’m thinking of her

Also, there’s no way my mom would want to share her day! I doubt his would either

My mom is out of state so we spend it with his mom. She’s very nice and never expects anything

Asking because we spent the morning with his mom. By the afternoon my mom was upset I didn’t go there first. I thought she was being a little unreasonable. We wanted to see both moms together.

Lol @OP this literally happened to me!

I moved back in with my parents in August, and my mom and stepfather have demanded monthly rent. They are in no way poor at this moment in time, and in my opinion it’s f*cked up to demand your child pay rent. I bought a VR headset a couple weeks back and my mom increased the rent because “I can afford it.” Is this normal? I honestly feel used. Fwiw I’ve worked since I was 13, and hustled my entire life.

I just found out that I'm pregnant. I was going to go on my IVF cycle in August!

My Dr had previously mentioned that I’d be given progesterone after the transfer. I’d like to have that given to my age and history of recurring miscarriages.

Do I ask my OBGYN or my IVF Dr for this prescription? My obgyn is a believer that a baby is nature’s choice; she didn't give me anything during my last pregnancy so I’m not sure how helpful she’d be this time.

I visited a friends that has a 1 year old baby. She asked me if I wanted to get a dog, and then asked me if I wanted to get a plant 😂. She said it was a good way to start carrying for something else and get experience for the future. I think this is hillarious I don’t see how a dog or a plant will fulfill my life. 😂

Anyone else dread baby showers? I don’t want to go to my friends baby shower just because of the social aspect of it. Dreading the side conversations that I may have. I know it’s to focus in on my friends upcoming baby but I’d rather just do a 1:1 to catch up. What’s the best way to change your RSVP without lying and looking disrespectful?

Need advice. Am in the middle of parental leave right now and my spouse and I are on the brink of divorce. Have only this 1 kid. Spouse doesn’t work yet, but can with earning potential around $50k. I make around $450k. No way I’d keep this job if divorce happens. I’d eventually transition in house so I can take care of my kid when I have him, but that won’t be immediate. How will custody work in that case? I want joint, but how do I take care of him alone with this job in the meantime?

Is anyone trying to improve their mental/overall emotional health but no one close to you is working on themselves the same way? It’s just frustrating bc every time I talk to some friends they still get the same type of judgmental reactions like we used to be like 10 years ago. I’m just trying to live and accept everything but I just don’t feel like they get it.

So here is my dilemma:
- based in the UK
- opportunity for lateral internal move (culture&engagement) or stay where I am (reward). I am mid level IC struggling to progress due to flat structure so considering lateral move then hopefully up from there.
- 2 primary aged children, currently have flexibility in current/new role too
- Husband just got accepted on a international rotation which means I will be single parent for the short term.

What to do? Go with the unknown or coast comfortably?

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture

My partner and I planned a trip with all of his friends and their wives before I knew I was pregnant. We will be going and I’m 8 weeks pregnant. I considered not going because I feel like without them all knowing I’m pregnant they’re going to think I’m super lame. We decided the best thing to do is just tell his friends (although a bit earlier than ideal) and then take the pressure off me to show up in any way that doesn’t feel good for me. I don’t even know what my question is…..
