For those in smaller high growth tech companies, where do you turn for resources on org development, engagement, trends, etc.? I’m moving from a large tech org to a a 150 person company. SHRM does not seem relevant at all. Podcasts, social media followings, etc?

I also really like Hung Lee’s Recruiting Brainfood. He has both a weekly podcast and weekly newsletter in which he highlights top content he’s found from the week. It’s not all recruitment based either.

The People Ops Society is great and they do some good free webinars, but they charge for a membership similar to SHRM. More modern and applicable for the younger, growing sector of the workforce. They also just started a podcast called "People Problems" but I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Check out the All Hands and Redefining HR podcasts as well!

I think the podcast Brave New Work (based on the book) gives some great advice. It’s all about reimagining the workplace. The nice thing is about startups is that you don’t have to deal with the rigid bureaucracy of the typical large organization. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/brave-new-work/id1488554600

I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼

Hello, I am HR Generalist; 9YOE. I am making 65k with a yearly 5% MIP bonus.I have my Masters Degree in HR management and currently working on my Shrm certification. Being that inflation is a huge issue these days and also seeing what other jobs are giving their HR Generalist starting rate of 75k and up. How do I go about asking my company to look into a job pay evaluation and giving more pay based on what’s out there in the Market? Also, with having a masters is my salary to low?
