I changed jobs earlier this year and used one recruiter who I felt like wasn’t getting me where I wanted so I started working with another one. I sent her a list of the places my resume had already been submitted so it wouldn’t be duplicated and asked the first recruiter to make sure not to send my resume to any new places without letting me know first for the same reason. The second recruiter got me to the job I’m at now and I’m so glad I began working with her.
Yes to connecting to as many recruiters as you want! They have more than one candidate too. But I will be honest with the recruiters, because sometime they have the same job posting and will get upset at you if your resume was already submitted by another recruiter. Don’t burn bridges with the recruiters, but also don’t marry to just one recruiter (no matter how he/she says you are the priority, blah, blah, blah)
Totally agree! Recruiters are very competitive , even within the same shop, and don’t always share opportunities so cast your net wide but be honest.
Seems obvious, but only connect with recruiters that have the type of jobs that you want. Look at what they have advertised, ask what they mostly specialize in & which companies they’ve placed people similar to yourself.
No that's illegal
Thanks EY1!
