I am an IT manager at a small manufacturing company that is in the commercial aerospace and DOD manufacturing space. I manage everything IT and have one other person and an intern currently for around 250 employees. I have been there for just 15 years and it’s stressful. I don’t feel like I am paid enough as now I have NIST 800-171 and CMMC to deal with as well. I am paid with bonus at $120k a year. I have started looking elsewhere because I am just not happy anymore and underpaid for what I do.

I am a Chartered accountant and truth be told given the current times CA is a really low incentive education any potent person can get. Today I see engineers barely with a few years of experience earning lakhs per month. Whereas me despite being in the right place at the right time is working hard 10-11 hours each day even today. We as a forebearers of this profession must really rise together

What’s the consensus on tattoos in the insurance workplace? I’m in leadership and considering exploring my options due to recent personnel changes. I work remote and have arm sleeves, and any time I would be in-person I’d of course wear a long sleeve shirt to be professional, but worry about a cuff rolling up and tattoos being somewhat visible. Nothing is offensive by any means.

I am 2 years into product as my first job. I have a new manager (former lawyer!?) who micromanages everything I do - including stylistic changes to my user stories. I tried having an open conversation with him and now he starts every call with “I am not telling you what and how to do but do x“. Any advice please? I dropped my papers on 30th June (Thursday) after informing my manager that I'll be doing so.

I got a resignation acknowledgement email the next day, but after that, nothing. Is there any intermediate step I'm missing out on? Or do we simply sit ducks till they reach out?

The reasons given were basically that I was not a great match for the team. My manager said they wanted somebody who was more aggressive; I take full responsibility for my performance. I’m evaluating a job offer and though the base pay is at market value, there are no options for profit sharing or bonuses. Is this something I should negotiate? And if so, what are some tips you’ve found helpful for negotiating these points in an offer?

Being a technical PM feels like I have less ownership.
All decision making is done in the presence of engineering and data science. In addition to that there is another PM that actually leads the UI of our overall application so often times they are the ones directly interacting with a user and giving us requirements very much in a waterfall way.
