For those of you that are mid-senior level (4-8 years of experience), has your career path been focused in a specific area (rev cycle, clinical coding, etc) or more of a generalist? What do you think is better? I've been a generalist for my career so far but was wondering if it makes to focus on a particular area now. TIA!

Speaking from 4 YOE, but have focused on a specific area. It’s not necessarily the area I want to spend the rest of my career in, but personally feel that being a generalist can only take you so far. People ultimately pay for expertise, whether it’s in consulting, banking, law, etc. I’d recommend trying to settle on one particular area as your main “expertise” that you’re known for while still understanding how that relates to the broader healthcare industry

I’m nearing my 7 year mark at this point. I’ve become more specialized in the last 2 years as I took at M title and am working towards to SM title. People look at me for Org Model and Finance Transformation as a SMA in most of my projects now.

Hey ladies. I had a miscarriage July 2021 and my cycle started back up not long after. Then in January it just stopped. It’s been 3 months without my period and not sure what could be causing it (I’m not pregnant). My diet hasn’t changed and neither has my activity. I run marathons but I’ve been doing that for years now and it’s never impacted my period prior. I have an appointment to see my OB in a week but wondering if any of you experienced this.

Got an offer at ZS for Consultant, and recruiter said it's the highest they can do for C. (165k plus COLA for NYC) and 15k signing.
My question is that this is the highest what kind of raises can one get, and how much target bonus is realistic at C level? 7YOE, M1 at Big 4.
