For those of you that left b4 and got a job in finance or fp&a, is the grass really greener or do you end up hating your job and go for an MBA to do something else?

I am a project manager with the strong desire to transition into product management but I’m feeling a little discouraged. Every opportunity I come across mentions 7-10 years experience. I just started training for the Google UX certification with hopes that may better prepare me. Any other suggestions? Words of advice on how to best make this transition?

PLEASE HELP! I’m a first year commercial litigation associate at a boutique firm. I am deciding between two offers. One is to go in-house paying roughly the same as I make now. The second offer is from big law as a commercial real estate associate, paying double.

I would love to go in-house and never worry about billable hours again but the big law money is super tempting. Advice?? Is the money really worth it?

My husband is wanting to transition from the construction industry to tech. He’s an extremely successful PM but the work life balance in construction is almost nonexistent. Are there any certifications he should get that would help him make the move / any advice on what role he could step in to using his experience as a PM? I’m looking to move from big law to in-house, preferably tech. I’m in NYC and have ten years of litigation experience, all in big law. Should I apply to in-house positions seeking 8-10 years of experience, or would I need to start at a lower positions, 5-8 years, because I’m new to the in-house world?

Currently in Accenture LLP, how can I switch over to ACN AFS?

Breaking into product management at a major tech company seems infeasible. Which more accessible roles would you recommend instead? I'm leaning toward product marketing management or product strategy, which seem closer to product than program management, product operations, business operations or strategy and operations. What other roles should I investigate? (About me: 10 yoe, MBA, now in strategy consulting, with tech client/project exposure)

How to join SAP LABS after working for 8 years as SAP functional consultant?

So I just started at a new company about 5 months ago. I’m already looking to leave. My boss should not be in the director of HR role she in, she does not have the experience for it. She was put into that role because the prior director left and she was the senior most person on the team. I’m also not connecting with anyone on my team. I don’t feel fulfilled or happy here. Is a 15k paycut worth it?

Just got promoted unexpectedly, big jump in salary.

I was interviewing with a new position when the promo came.

Have one last interview but I'm likely to get the job.

New position is 10k more than old salary but 15k less than new one.

Gets me out of public accounting (better WLB) and into a space I'm interested in.

Also gets me out of tax (major goal) into a more general finance role.

I'm thinking try it for a year or two, see how it goes, and jump if needed.

Is TAS really our only path out of audit/accounting and into finance?
