5% increase is ridiculous. Why would anyone take the risk of having to learn a new job and experiencing a new environment for a 5% increase?

like

While some of these numbers are certainly possible, there are a lot of other variables in play. I would say 15 to 20% is a minimum increase

like

Ok, glad everyone thinks that was a ridiculous thing to say. I currently make $95k base and I want to make $120k base.

like

I have a conclusion to this saga, and it's proof that recruiters are useless - I just signed on for an awesome position that I found on my own at $125k plus 20% bonus. 6% raise, my ass.

uplifting

how much you currently make/salary history. Not sure if he was just trying to guess my salary by making me give him a number or if that's a legitimate expectation.

If OP is already at the top of the band, (which we don’t know because OP didnt provide any additional context) I don’t see why this wouldn’t make sense?

33%

I would say you could be making 25-30% more within a year of leaving. Find a different recruiter.

Bonus and stock comp. could push that higher.

What do you want to make?

40% minimum

I left PA to go to a client (tax) when I was a Senior Manager. Got a 13.6% bump. Plus a huge annual bonus (over 30 percent). I would think anything less than 10 percent is a joke.

I left EY for a CPA firm that pays base salary >20% above big 4. We get overtime if we work over 45 hours a week, travel bonuses up to 25% of base salary if we travel, profit sharing since there aren't a million partners to take all of the profits, and you get 3% of the client fees if you're on a client longer than 3 months. Plus, audit is optional. You can work in M&A, CFO advisory, treasury, reporting, etc. I'd never have those experiences staying at EY. Oh, and our trainings are in Vegas, not Secaucus.

Siegfried Group eh?

I am a Web Developer based in Grand Rapids, MI. My primary focus is Magento development and managing / building the 7 sites my company owns. I do front and back-end development. I got a raise from $12.50 an hour as an intern to $22 an hour 6 months before I got my degree. I was happy with this raise initially. A year later, I am 6 months out of my degree and have 3 years of experience at this company. They gave me a 5% raise which puts me a $24 an hour. Is this fair considering I got my degree.

After 3 months of applying I some how got an interview with a well known growing tech start up! Interviewed and got an offer this week. Unfortunately the offer is lower than my current comp with 1 yoe but it gets me out of tech consulting/compliance and into a pretty interesting product facing role! A bit sad about a lower comp but also pretty pumped about pivoting career paths so early and getting to work in product! Hope this “success” helps motivate some of y’all who might feel down!

Our district is gradually bringing kids back, starting with K-2 a few weeks ago. but now the numbers are ramping up again. Nonetheless, our superintendent wants to plow forward. In my opinion, he’s way too worried about the public. Anyway we have now been told that we cannot be less than 6 feet away from any child even if we are both wearing masks. The same is true for the children. So how do you teach a child to read when you are over 6 feet away from them? That’s a rhetorical question.
