For those of you who bought your fiancé a watch (i want to get him a nice one to wear, similar to the ring) how much did you spend? What brands did you look at? I know nothing about men’s watches…

9k. IWC Portugieser chrono. He loves it. Sometimes I wish he liked it less so he wouldn't wear it as often (worried about a lot of wear and tear).

Join the luxury watch bowl. It's honestly the best bowl on fishbowl IMO. There's a master list of watch recommendations across price points pinned at the top.

FYI Rolex is pretty much impossible to get so I wouldn't even waste energy there. Also had horrible experience with IWC boutique itself and people in the watch bowl will tell you to go to an authorized dealer.

I would recommend joining the watch bowl! Everyone there would be super happy to give recommendations based on what he likes/has already and price point.

I got my husband a shinola - he isn’t a big watch guy, but he really liked the shinola brand story and would never spend 500-1000 on a watch for himself. The one I got him had a gold plated face which pairs really nicely with his gold band.

I got him a 13k rolex. I knew he always wanted this model / color combo.

About $4k, Nomos

Got him a Cartier Santos for 7k. He loves it, got the last one in store.

$5k panerai. He wears it constantly and loves it.

I'm struggling with imposter syndrome. I'm from a working class background, c.10 years exp in marketing & c.3 years in snr leadership. I'm in an exe leadership team with all men. It's all very fluid. Frequent restructures. Bitching/gossiping at snr level.

I feel like I'm not good enough, dynamic enough, doing enough. I ask open qz, probing for feedback. It all seems positive/constructive. With the toxicity, I don't trust any of it. Does anyone have any suggestions to navigate and overcome IS?

I keep reading that JDs are valued in compliance but am wondering if a different graduate program is better for my goals. I already plan to obtain the CAMS certification. Thank you!

Hi! Trying to sell a client on casting someone with a disability (that in no way affects or changes the story) in a film. Their concern is it will 'add an unnecessary layer'. Does anyone have links to a good presentation/data set to prove the benefit of normalising the inclusion of disability? Want to convince them with data. TIA!!!

Is there a recommended path here? Long one, finished in the comments.

So I make around 35% below market for my titled role. My employer used “startup” as the reason when I was hired, but they’ve finally stopped using that excuse. I was fine with it, because I was promised a promotion within 12 months due to scope change. I’ve now been promoted twice, but in responsibility only. My boss said it’ll be another 18-24 months until my director promo is approved and goes into effect. More in comments
