Hi Everyone,
I just received an offer to work as an software sales representative (SDR) for IBMs Z systems. I'm coming as a sales engineer in the cloud security space. Can anyone advise me on whether Z systems are something worth going into? Also what do the growth opportunities look like at IBM? Is there opportunity for lateral movement onto other teams? Not too sure how I feel about working on mainframes (Z systems) but they keep pitching hybrid cloud to me. IBM

I think you can pull out one or two as your flagships there. (Or the internal product/s you worked on?) Basically list the position then put something like flagship projects or notable projects. Then drop down a line and indent and put the first one including some highlights about your work on it or a solid sentence or two about it. Then add one more, maybe two more if the names are notable or it's very extensive or you were there for many years. Their aversion to the multiple projects thing is just that you wouldn't have gone through the entire phases or process or really seen the results of what your work did and that you aren't used to sinking your teeth into something.

I'd say you'd want to show that you've taken a product full cycle. I'd note the issue to be resolved, hiccups and resolutions along the way, and what occurred post-delivery. I think it is important to convey confidence so that even if you haven't gone full cycle with a launch, you are knowledgable and skilled enough to see things through.
