Hi,
I am looking to learn more about the NPI program manager role at Apple. Specifically want to understand the following:
1. What's exactly the day to day beyond the fluff job post?
2. What skills will be considered critical to be successful in the role?
3. How is success defined in the role?
4. What does the career progression look like?
5. What background is considered desirable for this role? Can one get into this role without prior background in NPI?
Thanks in advance!

I work with a really great engineering lead. When we bounce ideas off one another they often surprise me with a proof of concept. I love colleagues that don’t require a big huge requirements doc
I have a counterpart with the title “Technical Product Manager” and they are incredible. They had a developer background, but also Project Management. They tend to be our Lead Dev/SCRUM master these days (I’m new and we are a small, growing team) and tbh our whole team would fall apart without them, which is another problem that we are working on haha. But the project management background is very very helpful and they also had great written skills.
Ugh that is such a common scenario. It should be something that their manager is working with them on. Do you have a peer review process or other way that you can provide feedback to the eng lead or their manager?
This is a great point. I do and have talked about this before, but perhaps I should reemphasize it.
