Does anyone have any insight as to how PTO is discussed now in the unlimited scenario? When I was at EY (pre-unlimited PTO), how frequently people took vacation and for how long was definitely a topic of conversation. People who took off a lot or for extended periods were not viewed very well. I’ve been so curious whether that has changed with unlimited PTO.

like

5 weeks plus 4 weeks of firm holidays.

like

About 1-2 weeks

5-7 weeks

Yes

2.5 weeks.

Around 6.

We had 5-6 weeks plus the two breaks so that’s what I’m doing.

5-6 weeks

2 full weeks and then various days adding up to an additional 5-10 days

1-1.5

First year with unlimited pto used around 5 weeks. A 3 week vacation, a 1 week vacation, and the rest a day or two around holidays for extra long weeks

Looking at Strategy/Organizational Change Management roles, and curious to know if you feel that compensation and benefits were worth it when measured against your actual experience once you started working with CGI. (I understand that some of it depends on the account you're on, the team you have, etc., just trying to decide if it's worth considering.) Thanks!

During salary negotiations with Infosys. HR : what is the offer you holding? Me : 40 HR : We would not be able to match that. Me : yes I understand, but you need to compensate me on some other parameters, maybe onsite opportunity. You cannot say since this is Infosys, take 30 or leave. HR : no, the max we can offer is 26. 😸😸

Ladies how do you manage your relationship when your spouse holds you to what you promised you would do before you got married but then you realize you can’t do it. I had promised my husband I would fast with him for an entire day on a specific religious holiday, but when I did for the first time I had stomach pains, headache, and nausea. I told him I can’t do it for that long again but he said “we’ll see, you just need to push through”.

I feel some way about this, and I'm wondering if I should bring this up with my manager? I'm grateful for the raise they gave me and the promotion last quarter, but I don't understand how someone at a lower level can be making more? I'm I being greedy?

Partners or whomever can help me understand about billing and hours. To keep things simple, let’s say you only have one staff to work 1,700 billable hours a year on a $60k salary and you have only one job that and the rate charged to the client is $300/hour and an projected hours budget of 1,700 hours. So ideally you would have revenue of $510k. If the staff takes less time partners make less money and if they take more time partners make more money while the staff keeps the same salary?
