Would it be weird if I reached out to someone who sort of triggered my interest in a career path? This someone has an internal C level position at my company.
Would an experienced hiring manager or someone who exited to industry be willing to review my resume and offer advice/ suggestions over a phone call? Prefer someone SM-level & above 🙏
Was laid off in April and just got an offer for 25% more than i was making but for a role that I am not too excited about. Times are tough and i do need to get income. How bad is it to accept but continue with the rounds of interviews I started for roles I am more excited about?

I know Python, SQL, Tableau, some cloud technologies. What skills can I continue to learn to make myself more valuable as I try to exit consulting? Any recommendations on positions I should start applying to?
Best books about product management for a good exit to industry? I already have an MBA and PMP but looking for a refreshed perspective since it’s been years since my formal education. Currently reading “Product Managements Sacred Seven” but it’s geared toward the startup world. I am in healthcare and not looking for a startup role. TIA!!!
Deloitte Digital folks: When‘s the best time to apply to junior roles? Only have a year of experience and every role on the career page now is for SCs/Ms, directors, or specific school hires.
A recruiter reached out to me about a Senior Strategic Designer role at BCG Digital Ventures. Any tips on what they’re looking for? I have to send my CV Friday AM.
Has anyone switched from a transactional practice to regulatory/litigation? Would love to hear about your experience. I’m a third year biglaw finance associate in NYC, but realized that my dream job would be working for the government doing some sort of financial or commercial regulatory/enforcement position. My mentor suggested going to a small boutique firm that does that type of work and eventually move to a government role. Is this a crazy idea? Welcome any thoughts!
What is the salary for a tax director in NYC at mid size public accounting firm? A recruiter is asking what my number is but I’m not sure what to say- I don’t want to low ball myself.

Help me pick. Corporate strategy at global FMCG, potential to exit into P&L ownership or equivalent role in 2-3 years. Equivalent to “head of”/director title. People are smart but no ego, and role would serve category/geo leaders as well as exco. 16% pay cut but a true 9-6 and industry-leading benefits. 75 min commute till Dec and then 30 min after new office. Head of strategy/innovation at midsize regional insurtech in “scaleup” mode. Potential to exit into major role in 2 years CONT
I need advice from all of you Salesforce Jockeys out there. After a number of years my company is updating the CRM to Salesforce. Do yall have any advice on how I can maximize my time with it?
Feeling frustrated with my career progression after being a senior planner for +2.5 years. Trying to change careers but that's not going well and I can't seem to land a manager position in media. :/
What should a first year manager expect as a salary in a small firm? Firm is less than 70 employees and in the southeast region.
Does it make sense to hire an executive career coach? So, I want to move on and find another job, also I would rather move to California or NY, I’m in MA now. My problem is that I’ve been with my current employer for 7 years, and they transferred me from Europe 5 years ago. I’m in my first VP job, and I got promoted from the inside. So my network is not really that big, it’s largest part consists of our employees, and I don’t have very deep connections in the HR community yet.
What can someone do who likes the client aspect of public accounting along with training staff, recruiting, etc. if they don’t want to work busy season hours or lose flexibility?
I feel trapped. We work hard, break glass ceilings, put in all the blood, sweat and tears needed to "make it". Usually twice as fast, with a babe on a hip - cooking, running a call. I'm over 50, solo and a parent & over the rat race. I've been putting out feelers and feeling the over 50 burn. I don't need to lead the world - a small piece would be nice, ok money. Fun people, easy roll, smart work, build smart people - cool teams. I get "you'll be bored here - we can't afford you". What2do?
Thinking about exiting consulting with 2YOE and would love to get perspective on what people felt like was the most important aspects to optimize for early in their career/life that has set them up for success in the long term - e.g. good manager, learning opportunities, level of ownership/responsibility, comp, or even better WLB to figure out their interests
I am in the market for new HR software. Anyone have suggestions on the best product for Payroll, Timekeeping and tracking candidates (ATS)? It is hard to find a great product that does everything.
Recently left consulting and moved to a high growth mid-sized startup. I’m struggling to get acclimated to the culture and my anxiety has gone up. Has anyone else experienced this before, any suggestions?
For data science roles, senior (L6) at AWS or post MBA level (specialist track, so same pay as generalists) at MBB? Comp is 20% higher at AWS just to start. But maybe looks like MBB has better upside - solid path to promotion to manager level with solid comp increase. But worse WLB and it's unclear to me whether MBB data scientist on the resume is up to par with big tech data scientist on the resume. Coming from big 4 so I am considering brand so I can do better with future resume screens.
