For those that have tested positive for covid, how did you handle letting your team know? I feel like people will look down on me and assume I wasn’t following correct social distancing precautions and I don’t want the judgement, but I’m also starting to show symptoms

As long as you get that work done nobody will care. And so goes the big 4 life. You can die after you clear these comments.

Would you look down on someone? Personally I wouldn’t it’s highly contagious and everywhere. Just tell your manager and prep to hand things off for a few weeks to recover.

like

Are you WFH? Can’t you just tell your manager you’ll be out sick? Why would the whole team need to know what you have unless you’ve exposed them in person?

like

Yes I am working from home

like

I told the partner and HR. Gave permission for them to tell the team. They were all so supportive!

like

Also, the reason for telling HR (in case not obvious) is so that if you end up being out for a while, you can switch to sick or disability leave and make sure you’re covered legally/getting paid.

like

I don’t think anyone will be judgmental unless you were spamming coworkers with Spring Break / Memorial Day photos... in which case people were already judging you.

like

I got it back when they were telling us not to wear masks. No one was judgmental, just sympathetic. I would definitely tell your team because a normal “sick” will not explain how tired and useless you may end up being for a couple weeks.

like

Two people on my team got it just after we all started working WFH. Apparently their immediate families all had it too. Everyone felt really bad for them and asked after them until they got better. Nobody thought they were irresponsible - even though who knows what they were up to out there. It’s an illness, you didn’t mean to catch it. Just worry about recovering and looking after your health right now.

like

Ugh, so you were being careful and you still got it 😣😖 oye!

like

You could be really sick for a couple weeks. Please share and take care of yourself

like

I would tell partner and HR so they cans push it down to your team to leave you the fuck alone so you can focus on recover and not feel pressured or guilty.

HELP my friends! I’ve been invited to a recruiter screen for the initial interview with HR for Global Safety Associate. This job mainly deals with Adverse event/high prescribing meds product complaints. In my current role I deal with on boarding pt & getting patients work done from A-Z till they get on their meds. The only part which is similar is that I’m the main point of contacts for pt so I can report their complaint to Health Canada. How can I convince them I can handle this new job

Hello everyone I have 29 years as a dental professional in Texas. I started as a dental assistant back in 1993. As my career progressed as a RDA, I moved to the front office and eventually management. I even taught dental assistants and became the Program Director of a DA program. COVID opened up remote work for me, I manage eclaims, claims corrections and billing for two offices. $20 per hour, no bonuses or incentives, I know I am not getting paid enough! Any input would be appreciated.

Hot take, for those who received a stimulus based on FY19 or FY18 returns why doesn’t the government make people pay it back in the FY20 return if they don’t qualify based on the actual tax year stimulus was for? I understand why they couldn’t wait but IrS knows who received it so it isn’t hard to implement. Could have used the anticipated saving coming back to fund more stimulus for those who truly needed it.

How to deal with an overly paranoid family member? I've been working from my parents place for the past month and my brother recently came home for the holidays. Out of all of us, my brother is the most cautious, but to the point where he is paranoid. I respect his habits and I've been pretty cautious (cont. in comments)
