For those WFH employees I would love to hear your schedule. I have to log a minimum of a 40 hour work week (1 hour for lunch is not included) so I want to know how you spend your work days so you can also do the personal stuff that matters to you.

6:30 a.m. - Wake up, breakfast & journal
8 a.m. - Log into agency job; prioritize focused tasks because I’m more creative & mentally with it early in the day
12 p.m. - Lunch
1- 5 p.m. - Continue doing agency work
5:30 - yoga or side hustle

HI Fishes!

I have been offered an associate position in the Stock Research team with Acuity Knowledge Partners. I was wondering how would be the work culture and WLB, and what'd be the future scope for this role?

Thank You.

Hello all,
Which company between techm cerium systems and synapse design and excelmax technology is good in terms of
1. Good projects
2. Work life balance
3. Onsite opportunities
4. Work from home option

Would you leave for another offer if it was only a financial benefit? (15% salary bump and 10% higher performance bonus per year). Been wanting to move, but everything but pay is better at my current company. Team, benefits, WLB all better for me now. But I’m scared that if I don’t take it, I won’t get a monetary increase like this again, or any other offers lol. (I’m in HR at a consulting firm and the role would be another HR role at another consulting firm)

This general strike talk has really got me re-evaluating my whole career. I can’t complain about compensation, I’m paid well, I have benefits, and I have a roof over my head. But the work life balance and unsustainable productivity expectations that have been created by agencies that won’t say no to clients needs to change. We place/create ads to turn millionaires into billionaires while we’re treated terribly. Something’s gotta give. I don’t know a single person who isn’t burnt out right now

I'm watching the film "The Disruptors" and just crying (hellooooo emotional regulation issues). But it's so validating and frustrating at the same time. I've had a terrible several months at work, and I am relating so hard to the struggles even of the school kids in this. Like my boss is the teacher throwing me into the hallway because they are tired of me. It's also comforting to see who has excelled at their passion with it, even if I can't quite find mine and feel like I'm failing.

Been practicing a year now. Of 6 attorneys, 4 will be retiring soon, and I was brought in to hopefully take over. I am troubled: first that my partners largely provide me with no guidance. They handed me a client with a large quantity of fairly straightforward casework and have been hands off since. There also hasn’t been any talk of a raise/performance review. How should I ask for guidance/mentor ship? How do I ask for a raise, or should I presume one is coming?

Wow…covid is really over. I live in a rural area where we knew covid was happening but it never really impacted the community or daily life. However when I’d go into the city it was very very obvious there were huge life impacts and fear. I just went into the city for the first time in about 3 months and it’s like covid never happened. It makes me wonder how many other things that have drastically changed (like wfh and hand sanitizer) will go back to normal as people go back to normal.

I have a full time remote position and currently interviewing for another remote role that requires some travel for on-site visits (I'm ok with this). I feel like the other company will make me an offer and I'm stuck on what to do. It would be about a 20% increase but I'm sure it will be more stressful, given that it involves internal auditing. I'm not sure about leaving my current company because I was promoted to this role a few months ago but I need more money. Continued in comments

Just had a surgery to remove a lesion that had 40% chance of becoming cancer. I had a group text to keep family & friends informed. Nobody from family actually called to check on me. Five friends called to see how I was doing and feeling. Parents are deceased, I’m the youngest sibling (+5 to 8 years older) and the only one anybody keeps in contact with. Time to cut family? They obviously don’t care what’s going on in my life. One sibling never even responded.
