For those who celebrate, when is the big meal? Christmas eve or Christmas day?

Do you cook or order out?

I usually have a Christmas Eve service at my church. I am the Director of Music. This year, I am playing a violin duet with my colleague, a retired Orchestra teacher. Christmas Day will be filled with Zoom’s with all of our extended families. We are planning on having a traditional Christmas meal-ham, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, peas with onions and mushrooms, my mother’s’ recipe for Cranberry Salad. I am looking forward to it, although it will be a little different

Christmas Day: ham, sweet potatoes, broccoli salad, fresh cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, Hawaiian rolls, crescent rolls, and 2 pies.

This year we are having fish and grits on Christmas Eve. The big dinner will be New Years Eve with greens, ham, ma and cheese , rice and black eye peas! ☺️

Christmas Eve for my family and we cook :). We’re Puerto Rican so we make rice, beans, pork, pasteles, and avocado salad plus Coquito (Puerto Rican egg Noh with lots of rum) So excited a long needed break 🤪❤️

Sounds delicious. Enjoy and be safe!

Christmas Eve dinner Christmas Day laaaaaate breakfast. Basically breakfast for dinner. Christmas Eve is always a pork roast, rigatoni and a vegetable. Christmas Day it’s usually an egg scramble and a French toast bake. Always awesome. This year it’s just my wife, myself, my mother and we just found out hers. A little bigger than I want but still under 5.

Christmas Eve is our big dinner also and Christmas Day normally the movies and lots of popcorn but we will see how we adjust this year but we will make the most out of it

like

Christmas Day. Just my husband and I will have prime rib and all the trimmings.

like

Christmas Day. We usually have a party with appetizers and finger foods on Christmas Eve. It canceled this year because of COVID-19.

like

I also canceled my Christmas Eve dinner due to Covid! I will have a ham dinner on Christmas with my husband and two children. I do cook that meal. When we do have Christmas Eve I always have it catered.

like

My wife's family tradition is lasagna on Christmas Eve, so we do that. We'll just have a lot of leftovers this year, and I'm fine with that! In lieu of a big meal on Christmas Day, I think we're just going to do some kind of hearty soup or stew. Since it's just us, trying to do the whole spread seemed unnecessary.

My dad sent Omaha Steaks (?!?) for my birthday, so the new plan is lasagna Christmas Eve and steak and baked potato Christmas Day. Super excited.

Both! And yes...we cook. Unless my BIL is hosting. He cheats and gets it catered. :0)

like

We are ordering out for Christmas Eve.

As far as I know after my LWD my health insurance with company expires. If I don't have any other personal plan and new company doesn't provide insurance during probation period ( 3 months being small company). What shall I do to keep myself secure in this pandemic time other than stay home stay safe?
On serious note, I am really worried about hospital bills in case of emergency in next 3 months. Kindly suggest what can I do? Is there any instant health plan to apply and get benefit?

I've been off work since last Thursday! My Dr. suspected COVID & sent me for a test, whilst I waited for the results, I felt worse. I was sent to the ER; ER doctor said that I had COVID & asked me to call the urgent care to see if my results were back. They were negative. They told me that the tests are 60% false negatives. So, they treated me as if I had COVID and put me on steroids and antibiotics and told me to rest for the week. I'm feeling better now, but scared to go back on Monday.
