I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.

100% worth it. Was in the same boat as you, paid out of pocket, and have zero regrets. Will be best 2 years of your life, will open career doors, lead to lifelong friends, etc. Just go to the best school you can and all else will work itself out
Ill let you know in 2 yrs when Im done and start paying off my 250k loans out of pocket 🤣
Oof, good luck
Get into those tier1/2 firms and make them pay for your MBA. I know a few folks from MBBs who were sponsored. They still had to give GMAT and apply like everyone else but they didn’t pay a dime in tuition.

I am five years out from my MBA and I make $500k in tech. Yes it was worth it.

I second Mck1. I went to a top 25 mba (not top 7) and it was definitely worth it. The connections, knowledge gained has separated me from my peers. Important thing is, take the MBA seriously, and do not coast by to obtain only the degree.
For sure but I used it to pivot from industry to consulting and come in with the MBA level comp. (and only paid 20% out of pocket)
Imagine for you it’d only be worth it for you if your exit from Mba would move you to a higher income trajectory like shift to IB or PE. Sounds like a shift to MBB is within reach and won’t require the debt and opportunity cost of an MBA that MBB would want
Of course there are some intangible benefits to the MBA as well, but maybe those would be lower for someone who’s already working in strat consulting
I also went to a top 25 and am doing just fine, very happy with the resulting personal and professional growth opportunities the MBA brought. As long as you’re in a well know program that’s a good fit for you and you take it seriously the knowledge that you’ll gain is immeasurable and will set you apart.
As for the cost, yeah it sucks paying for but once you find that well paying consulting career you’re looking for it’ll be fine. I paid ~30% out of pocket and took out loans for the rest and only have about 40% remaining to pay off and I’m only one year out of the program. Hoping father government comes through with the student loan relief because then I’ll be fully paid out less than two years after graduation.
If you're already at Accenture Strategy at the Consultant level, keep trying to crack MBB and Tier 2 generalist roles. You'll probably make it and then an MBA probably won't be worth it. If you're doing IT implementation at Accenture, then an MBA will probably be worth it.
I got an M7 MBA and it is worth it. I would not recommend an mba that isn't top 15.
Def get an MBA and find a company to sponsor it
You have a good chance of getting tier one consulting offer out of MBA with your background. In school you will train to perform well on interviews.
The only question is whether your current comp is close to what you would be making post MBA (in consulting or otherwise). If you stand a significant pay increase, go for the MBA, but if you will only make a little more post MBA, then think about the return on cost of MBA
I doubled my salary in my first role post MBA and have no regrets on the investment
As an Electrical Engineering undergrad, definitely worth it.
Same, hit that engineer plateau quick. Mba got me back on track (esp since leaving big4)
Does anyone ever say their MBA wasn’t worth it? Worst case scenario you get a two year break from work and new friends
