I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.
Did the wsj pwc layoff article ever happen

But your stuff is there and it takes up space.....no offense but trying to not split things evenly (except for groceries) is kind of strange. Everything but groceries should be half and half.
Yeah D11 definitely some places where that is not true at all
50/50 is fair. You’re not going to lease out your room while you’re gone...so how could you expect to pay less rent? If you opt for the smaller room, then sure you should prorate it.
Why are you sharing groceries? I don’t know many roommates that do this besides the occasional “hey can you pick up some eggs for me.”
50/50 and everyone buys their own groceries
Doesn’t matter if you’re out of town or if you’re on vacation in my opinion. Rent is rent. Not fair to them for you to get a discount.
Dear god I hope you haven’t asked anyone this in real life....
Damn dude. You have a great job and so cheap.. you write your name in your food too? Not a good look. Learn to be generous.
you chose this lifestyle; don’t put it on your roommate. that’s what’s not fair.
and why would you share groceries anyway? you eat all the same shit?
I have to agree with my colleague: the roommate is carrying the heavier burden, getting the mail, putting out the trash, protecting the place from weekday intruders, so (s)he should pay less to compensate for that.
[anything other than 50/50 is untenable, sheesh]
weekday intruders? I mean sure, weekend intruders I can understand...
Rent and utilities are 50/50. Hard to argue different on rent unless your roommate can sleep in your room. Utilities also hard to argue unless there’s something that can be readily attributed to just your roommate, such as premium cable packages that you never use perhaps. Groceries are each person’s own. Hopefully you can agree to split things like salt and pepper given low cost.
You must be a delight to live with
Lol, what kind of person would even ask this question?
Op - as per you what should be fair split ?
I now understand why McK has its unwanted reputation
You’re giving pwc a bad reputation
If they go on vacation for a week or two, do you plan to cover more of the rent because they aren’t there? Or will the landlord say, “Oh, they aren’t physically in the space so I’ll give a discount this month.”
No? 50/50 split it is.
Not a good look op 🤦🏼♂️
I bet you’re fun to split the dinner check with.
Agree with everyone above - the only other thing I’d push on going 50/50 with is if they want to spend significant money on a cleaning service. Since you’re hardly there to dirty up the place
I’m not talking about clutter so much as hiring someone to vacuum, clean bathrooms, etc. But yes, if the traveling roommate is particularly dirty/messy then yes I think that’s an extreme case that would negate my point
I pay about 75% of the rent - but then again my roommate is my Fiancé 🤷🏼♂️
Stop being cheap, you work at McKinsey
Id never split groceries. But all utilities and rent are split evenly, under the condition that my car stays in the garage permanently when I am gone
Dude seriously
