How reliable is the Robert Half guide for salaries? I'm not Big 4, in Seattle and considering a switch, but not sure what salary range I should be looking for. Would likely just be a switch of firms, but still manager or senior manager level.

So, I am a high performer and had to cover for two very senior roles for many months due to quick high turnover. We already had our talks. I found it funny when I was told, “oh and by the way… as you can see we increased your bonus to thank you for covering for so and so.” $500 increase………. Am I silly to think this “thank you” increase is a joke? No salary increase and only $500 thank you for covering for two additional jobs. Am I unreasonable to think the work I covered for wasn’t appreciated?

My last working day in TCS is 4th of March, I have rejected the retention offer. My current CTC is 13.31 LPA in TCS YOE: 11.5. Retention offer was 18LPA. Currently I am holding offers with CapeG - 20LPA, TechMahindra - 21.5LPA, HCL - 22.5 LPA.But during my call with HR in TCS regarding retention, the HR when he heard about the companies which I am holding the offers said negative comments about those companies in a deteriorating way. I feel really bad about it 🙁

A little embarrassed not to know the answer to this question I’m about to ask regarding candidates and current salary... can a recruiter in MA ask a candidate in Arkansas (for example) where they do not have a ban” on salary history questions- ask that candidate their current comp? I never ask current comp - no matter where the candidate is located - always approach the question as desired comp range-but a situation has come up where it MIGHT be helpful to have if the candidate feels comfortable

Had recieved offer from PwC SDC, with 40% hike over current CTC. 2 weeks after putting down my papers with my current company, my boss' boss called and is willing to "do anything" to retain me. Having completed almost all initial paper work with PwC, what should I do now ? My current company is great in everything except compensation, And I am interested in increased compensation and work experience. So the move to PwC makes sense, but all I see is complaints about the WLB. Need advice.

Little about me, I work for a tech company, for almost a year (healthcare) with 17 years of HR experience. I have one HR Gen reporting to me. I basically do everything from talent acquisition, employee retention, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement, HRIS, compensation, benefits, contract negotiations, compliance, D&I, T&D, PEO, etc...

Last year, My girlfriend was making 80k while I was making 200k so I took her out to dinners and took care of the groceries etc. Basically made sure it’s an equitable relationship. She got a new job this year and is now making 210k (more than me) but still expects me to pay for all the dinners and groceries. I’ve already talked to her about this but just resulted in argument.
