For those who use “You need a budget”, have you found it worth the monthly or annual fee? I know it’s small, but I’d rather not throw money away if I can try and hack it on my own.

It’s been worth it for me because I’ve actually used it, unlike excel (or Mint). If you have the discipline you can definitely do everything it does in spreadsheets but the convenience has helped me to stick to it and consequently I’ve vastly increased my savings rate (which was near-zero pre-YNAB outside 401k).

You can always do the free trial, and if you’re not sure afterwards I’ve heard they’ll give you a 1-2 month extension if you email them.

Thank you!! This is helpful

People living in LCOL areas who bought a house in the last few years... What did you spend on your home, what are the bed/bath #s, and did you buy a fixer upper, turnkey home, or something in between?

Starting to home shop in a LCOL city and I'm super curious to see some numbers from others in similar types of locations. I'm originally from a bigger HCOL city so what feels "reasonable" to me is skewed, but everyone here seems to want to spend as little as possible on homes.

2nd year here: just got reamed multiple times by a partner in a checklist call for not having enough detail in my open items list. Thing is the draft i had sent the midlevel was far more detailed, they told me to remove it all and make it as barebones as possible. Do I just take this L? I'm pretty annoyed because the partner mentioned it TWICE in the call with clients for my lack of detail.

Midlevel didnt apologize or even acknowledge this issue. I've never been so mad in my career.
