For those who used their employer fertility benefits/allotment (i.e. $25k for medical and $10k for prescriptions), how much did you roughly spend out of pocket for IVF?

5k ish. There were certain things that wasn't covered under the 25k and 10k benefits

like

UHC also raised the limit to 50k

Copays only. But I think NYS mandates full coverage for IVF.

Unfortunately as all of our plans are self-funded they do not have to comply with the state mandate.

Copay + anesthesia + PGS testing was out of pocket for me. I’m in NYC.

like

Same! I forgot anesthesia and pgs was OOP too’

You will likely spend your plan deductible. I did 5 IUIs and 1 IVF cycle with PGTA testing and insurance billed was 30k and I spent around 9k and hit my OOP max. The meds are $$$$. I had 30k medical and 20k Rx max for fertility. I’m about 6 months pregnant now😊

Hi! I have a few questions on the backdoor Roth in which I’ve done a bit of research online. When it comes tax time, will my 401k vendor (Merrill) give me the correct documents? I’ve just used turbo tax in the past but am worried of any documents I may be missing to adjust any tax. Also- when does the pro-rata rule come into play? I’m just nervous in the entire process as this is my first year doing this. TIA!!

Maybe off-topic, but I’ve got a question related to taxes and withholding. 2020 was the first year that both me and my wife made full salaries in our high-paying jobs (she’s a pharmacist, I’m in consulting). We don’t do anything out of the ordinary to reduce our taxes, we just put ~ 6% each towards our 401k’s. No house or kids so our other deductions are limited. Just started doing taxes and got a shock that we owe big. Any others in this situation? Do you just withhold a ton extra on W4?
