In case study it is mentioned to

Anyone have idea for it's timelines
Also it would be really helpful if any
experience is shared regarding what
kind of questions are expected for
this assessment.

Why wear a suit, SC1?
(1) I look damn good in a suit
(2) I look damn good in a suit
(3) suits are just as comfortable as anything else
(4) I grew up admiring professionals that wear suits and it’s my turn now
(5) I look damn good in a suit.
I read my post a couple times through and I don’t see any mention of trying to impress anyone. Only problem I have is that I look so damn good in a suit 😉
Ew. Don’t they start to smell...?
I’ve always been so confused by this - if your project or service line doesn’t require suits (most PA does not), why wear them? I’ve got a few nice suits that I love but wouldn’t want to wear them everyday if I didn’t have to. Why put unnecessary wear and tear on a nice suit?
Hi Partner here and while my generation is still “in charge” we do take notice of people who dress for success. Leadership at EY still wears suits or dresses. Men in leadership still wear ties. If you don’t think we notice in a positive way who wears a suit to work and dresses like they want to be a boss, you are wrong. There is nothing wrong with wearing jeans - that is the policy and completely fine. Wearing jeans doesn’t mean you won’t make PPEDD. I am just saying dressing “more professional” doesn’t go unnoticed by the PPEDD group. Plus I understand EY2 just looks good in a suit and it is important to look good
I’m guessing you mean dry clean them. And it really depends on the suit. But to be honest I expect most people dry clean suits too often. A simple steam clean if generally all you need. I’ll dry clean the suits I wear more often once every few months
2-4 times a year based on frequency of use and whether you actually spill something on them. If you hang up the jacket and steam (and possibly even brush) your suits then they will stay nice. If you are trying to maintain the fresh pressed look of a recently dry cleaned suit you should look into a pants press. Corby dominates this product field so don’t waste time shopping around and buy one of their cheaper models (never iron your suits!).
And before someone drops a “dress for the job you want not the job you have” line: you can wear a $3,000 BB suit everyday but if you can’t sell a ton of work you’re not making Partner lol
I have three suits that I wear regularly. Two have an extra pair of pants which cuts down on the dry cleaning drastically. I’ll probably go 10-20ish uses before taking them to the cleaners as long as I didn’t get anything on them or was sweaty. Just hang them up immediately once you get home/hotel. Steam cleaning is a huge help to. So typically they go to the cleaners before busy season, one during, and once after. I don’t wear them much during the summer. Just busy season and interim
EY2 if you need to dress to impress you likely got other problems
How do you steam clean a suit? Is there a special tool to do this at home?
I hate wearing a suit. I feel like I’m in a costume. But if you can pull it off, go for it!
I love my suits and enjoy wearing them, but would not wear them to work a B4 job unless I had to. Nice suits are meant to be taken care of. Not trying to put unnecessary wear and tear on a nice jacket while I’m being overdressed for the sake of being overdressed.
I bathe regularly (like a normal person) and steam clean them every few wears. True wool is antibacterial so it doesn’t smell unless you smell or spill stuff on it.
All of my clients are banks so I’m in a suit and tie 60% of the time. I’d love to have 2 more suits to be able to rotate in but shits expensive for a quality suit.
There are dry clean at home products you can buy to use in your dryer in between actual dry cleans, or refreshing sprays. Publix next to laundry detergent. And you can also buy a steam iron from bed bath beyond for $10-15
SC1 - I don’t know any partners that drop $3K on a Brooks Brothers suit. I assume B.B. for you was Brooks Brothers and not Beau Brummell; because you could be a Beau Brummell if you just gave it half the chance.
You will find better quality and fabric at other brands and fashion houses. You can also have bespoke suits made by a number of other Tailors. While I have not done so in years, there are a number of truly wonderful Tailors who fly to the US from HK and Korea and will also make you beautiful suits, but “BB” is not the place (anymore) for high end suits. Now when/if you make partner head to London and have a bespoke suit made for you there. It is a truly memorable experience and assuming you maintain your measurements it is a suit you’ll have for your whole life
@EY2 😂😂😂😂 x2
