Anyone else feel everything takes three times as long WFH? I’m worried partners will think I’m taking too long to finish simple projects.
In my first year of big law and hours at my sweat shop firm are already getting to me. Recently got an email from a recruiter promoting a fully remote lit associate position with a 1600 hrs reqmt at a less than 50 atty law firm and essentially what is old Cravath scale pay. Does anyone have experience with a move like this? Too good to be true? I was under the impression that positions with low billables for big law (or close to big law) pay don’t really exist…
Female 🐠 - has anyone had a laparoscopic myomectomy? Would like to hear how long it took you to return to: 1.) light remote work 2.) full time remote work 3.) traveling to client. Thanks
My son is entering Kindergarten and his (great but hamstrung) public school can only offer 60-85 minutes per day for remote learning, 3 days per MONTH in-school. Just not feasible for a working mom in this industry. So I met some parents, we hired a private teacher, and I’m rolling with a 4-family homeschool pod. I’m keeping my kid in public school, hoping the curriculums can align and not go crazy. Love and strength to all moms and dads and partners out there. It’s tough - but so are we!
Since WFH is in place, To any of you holding an advance monthly season pass, pls check T&C if you can get a refund/consider cancelling it for April, May 2020 etc.
Accenture 🐠, how does your firm handle working WFH in the current climate if you’re working from a home that’s not yours, i.e: parents house, different state? Is there a certain number of hours you’re allowed to charge outside your home state? (Im also assuming you guys fill out timesheets based on jurisdiction/location like D does)
Looking to move to Austin, TX - Can anyone help me with referrals? Open for remote roles. My experience is around corporate strategy. TIA!
Hi ladies, looking for advice on pivoting my career. Currently primary engineer for a system that supports 25k users across 200+ offices. I'm bored with IT. I'm a Jill of many trades, networking, wireless, voice, etc. I'm currently working on learning various netops tools. I like figuring out how to put pieces together but it's not much of a challenge anymore. I'm working on putting together a 5 year plan to move to 100 percent remote because my husband wants to retire and move. Advice?
Hi. I've not been keeping well physically as well as mentally. I married my best friend and it was all so perfct. Due to Covid and wfh policy at our offices, we came back to his hometown to stay with his parents. I really tried but I never got comfortable with them because of their ideologies and manipulative behaviour. I've come to stay with my parents and in a week's time I'll have to go back. I don't want to. I don't knw why I'm feelin so anxious with the thought of going back..
How has COVID been impacting your personal life (e.g., childcare management, cabin fever), your firm and/or clients beyond WFH (e.g., layoffs, funding, project delays, unpaid leave, etc.)?
Not sure how much longer I can stay cooped up in my house. Been one of the people abiding by social distancing / quarantine, and with the spike (due to more testing, people not social distancing, whatever) its scary to think that we could still be doing this next year. Anybody else in the same boat? How are you dealing with the repetitiveness of WFH?
For jobs that are remote, would one get a pay reduction moving from GA to FL? Trying to see if living in FL would be wise since they have no state income tax.
I have no idea how to get motivated again. I am a legit zombie that sits and types for hours and hours without talking to anyone. I feel like a shell of a person. And nobody in management cares about any associates well being in this remote environment. I’m a person who likes to talk about things, but I am well aware that nobody in management would even want to actually do anything to help. Is anyone else feeling the same?
A big surprise challenge in wfh has been my spouse seeing me around the house and expecting me to help out with daily chores and helping with kids then getting frustrated when I’m not able to get up and help. Our whole marriage, when I’ve been home that means I’m not working and can help her out with things, but now that rhythm has changed and it’s hard. Anyone else going through this? Hoping we’re not the only ones 🤞🤞😬
If after a case study the interviewer says “thanks for your interest” is that just a dead give away you didn’t get it?
What do people think of masters in business analytics programs? If it’s from a reputable school e.g. UCLA, Duke, MIT all offer MsBA now, is it a valuable quant heavy MBA? Or is it a BS degree?
Hello, I am considering joining Deloitte, . I wanted to join as a manager, however, offer might come as a SC. What would be the difference in salary % wise ? would it be worth it to go as a SC instead of Mgr? Do I even have the option to negotiate or to say why I think I should be a manager and not a SC? Have you seen something like this at a big 4? How about WLB? Thanks
Desi Deloitte 🐠 applying for GC! Did Deloitte stop your application filing process? They had been working on my application since July. Stopped it suddenly in Oct.
Went through 4 interviews for a position—they went with the other candidate! Disappointed but want to explore next opportunity. Wondering if anyone has an idea who’s hiring strategists or is about to?
Do partners at top consulting firms have better WLB? An Associate here contemplating whether all this is worth it. Thanks!
Holiday bonuses? Just got notice of ours and it seems very skimpy... wondering if B4 or other companies give staff holiday bonuses?
A wonderful friend recommended me to a recruiter, when the recruiter was looking to place a creative. This role is at a small agency, I’m going to be paired with a Sr. Copywriter. They’re looking for a conceptual thinker and brilliant designer, no pressure. I have some internships and some freelance under my belt since graduating portfolio school, and a current laptop that’s running on fumes ha. I’m intimidated, cautious, yet super grateful to finally hear from someone. Any words of wisdom?

I know my client needs an Accounting Manager. I know this because they’re startup med device company that has their books in complete shambles. The current accounting team isn’t very strong. How do I let the client know that I would be interested in joining them? They’re not actively recruiting for any position but I know they’d benefit from it. Serious responses only :)
Completed my two rounds of interview with capgemini for "business analyst" in payment and cards domain. Have 2YOE as a IT-BA Asked for a 7.5 to 8 Lpa Would they offer as expected any idea?

What is the minimum type of exit offer would consider taking? (Company, Group, Salary, Position). Essentially what tips the balance towards leaving your current job?
Ipg/Reprise folks, can we get a salary roll call going? List your title and salary. I’ll go first - Sr. Associate, Search : $60k
Throwing my had in the ring. I applied to Airtable, Netflix, and Stripe. If I get an offer, how long would I generally be able to wait for potential other offers to come in. I'm also applying to Proserve and KPMG as backups.
I am SO tired of hearing “you’re on mute”. How have people not figured out how to effectively use zoom/teams/etc yet. 🤦♀️😭
What are EY's bonus rules for CFE/CPA?
My trainer just kicked my ass over zoom in a weighted cardio workout 🙌🏼💪🏼 I miss my gym but I’m thankful we can still workout
