For those who work at small firms (10 or fewer attorneys), what is your compensation structure for associates? How does your overall pay compare to market rate in your area (not necessarily Cravath or BigLaw)? Are you straight salary, or are there contingencies/incentives? Boutique transactional. $66k base salary then $66k per hour billed.

like

Lol *$66/hr billed. But man I wish.

like

85k base with 25% of originations, which for me means just 85k. Estate planning.

Individually negotiated by associates with the senior partners. Typically 1/2-2/3 market compensation for my region + 15% on originations. Hours are about 2/3 market.

like

In small firms there is often room for negotiation for associates. The partnership makes an offer, the associate counters, and they meet somewhere in the middle. I don't think this is uncommon.

Balls. Lol

Hi, YOE: 3years Skills: Java, Spring Boot and Microservices I received an offer from Cognizant for 10.5 LPA with 45000 Variable and 75000 joining bonus. I didn't even negotiate with them because I got an offer from FIS for 12 LPA. Even before sending rejection letter to Cognizant they revised offer to 16Lpa with 45k variable pay and 1Lakh joining bonus. I am not getting why they revised offer. Till now I was pretty sure I was going to Join FIS now I am confused.

Currently make 80K at PwC. Received an offer to go part-time at a different company (30 hours/week) for 72.5K and a 6.5K bonus. No overtime is ever expected and if I hit my contracted hours for the year (1,500 hours) I can either take time off/be compensated for it. Would you take it?
