For those who work in MBB, how is the work/life balance? What are your typical hours and projected post covid travel schedule like?

Absolutely amazing. We are relentlessly 80:20 in everything - so 80% work and 20% life Also great flexibility on travelling policy - We get to stay home for 2 days (Saturday and Sunday)

On an average study, I work 9a until midnight with a 2-3 hour break at 6pm for workout/dinner. Friday usually done by 5pm. Maybe 1-2 hours on Sunday (due to my preference to be done on Friday). I’m a tenured analyst, so I get a lot of independence. New joiners and the average analyst will likely have a worse experience, namely not being about to take that dinner/workout break

Haha yeah was intended to be a serious response…

I’ve been at McKinsey for ~4 years. I’ve consistently worked 50-60 hours/week with few exceptions

That's not too bad, has it been engaging the whole time?

Hey Consultants. I just might have a Bain interview coming up in a few weeks. So far I have had 3 R1s of the other two MBB but got dinged. I don’t know what I am doing wrong but I need help as I call this the “last dance” so far I have done 40+ live cases with MBB consultants.

Guitar lessons in NoVa/DC, where are they? I'm the type of guy who hires a bodybuilding coach because he wants to get in shape, I don't screw around. Places to look? Is the supply just rock bottom due to COVID?

When you are interviewing for a position with the “other side” on a deal you are currently staffed on (for which the other side may not be aware that you are involved), is it appropriate to bring it up during the interview without getting into the specifics? For example, saying “I’m currently on the other side of your firm on x deal” but nothing more than that.
