For those who left Deloitte, I hear they scrub your expenses after you leave and deduct any that are deemed unallowable per policy from your PTO payout. How far back do they go and (continued)

I’m curious what they would be deeming unallowable. What are people expensing that gets pulled back under audit?

I left uncle D, no scrub for me. Altho i joined EY where each and every one of all expenses get scrubbed by BOTs with no common sense

like

Yeahhhh I think the expenses are more strict there

like

Ha, must be all those steakhouse dinners that are expensed in your last week

like

Depends I suppose - I boomerang back to uncle D last week and my expenses still had line items left from 4 years ago - no scrubbing happened...when I left no deductions were made to my PTO paid out..granted I’ve known some SMs that left with a pile of questionable expenses but was fine

like

and what were some examples of expenses they flagged? I’m not leaving but curious

Why would they scrub it after you leave?

Sounds counterintuitive but that’s how they do it

Looking for some advice.. I am a Tech Recruiter with over 10 years of experience in the agency world. I’m hearing some scary rumblings about my current company that I have spent my entire Tech Recruiting career with and I think I should start looking. Work/life balance, flexible schedule, unlimited time off, and great culture are most important to me. Any suggestions on where I should look/apply? I want to stay away from agency recruiting. Thank you!!

Hello fishes, How many days does Deutsche Bank HR take to roll out the offer letter? One of my close friends attended the interview on 24th of January. The next day got a call from the HR team that they will roll out the offer letter very soon but 26th Jan. being a holiday, she informed my friend to wait for some days. Now my friend who is waiting for the offer letter wants to know when she can expect the offer letter and she can proceed for putting her paper in her current organisation.

Throughout pretty much my entire career, I've never taken a true extended vacation. I'm about to take nearly 2.5 weeks off and actually be mostly away from work to focus on my wife and kids. To be honest, I actually have some anxiety about it. Any sage wisdom from others on disconnecting?

Would you rather: (1) stay in big law (V100), collect your checks, keep billing 1900+ annually, knowing you’ll likely only progress to non-equity partner but stable pipelines for work; or (2) transition to boutique firm with no billable requirements, no minimum salary, on a pure revenue split (half of collections), option for equity partner in 16 months? In this scenario you’ve been practicing for 10 years but took some time off for babies and to lateral.

Need gift ideas! I’ve been crashing at two of my good friend’s place for the past month and a half and I want to get something to thank them for letting me stay/holiday gift. Budget probably in the $100–150 range combined for both of them. They are both pretty outdoorsy 24 year olds so I was thinking something along those lines but can’t think of anything. All I have so far is a nice bottle of scotch. Please help!

I know this varies based on the company but besides project needs from the hiring manager, does anybody take multiple months between when your background check clears and you actually start? I don’t want to immediately jump from job to job but not sure if taking some time off is generally accepted.

Do I tell my manager I’m leaving the company before their 5 day birthday PTO or after? If I tell, it would be the day before their last day. If I hold on to it will be 2 weeks before my last day. SM on my project stepped away on paternity leave. SM was the one who led partner discussions and most of the client meetings. We're a week from a client deadline. As a manager, I'm stepping but incredibly stress with the amount of moving parts. I don't have a strong rapport with the partner (Neither did the SM) to be open and transparent on how stressful I'm feeling without downgrading myself. I'm sick to the stomach and very anxious, stressed at the suddenness of the thrust. Help!
