For those with an AMEX platinum card, how do you use the $200 Uber credit? Is it through Uber or through AMEX?

In the Uber app you add your Amex as a payment method. 1st day of every month you get $15 into your Uber Cash, except December you get $35. You can then select your “Uber Cash” as a payment method in conjunction with any other payment method if you go over your Uber Cash balance (i.e. if you have $15 UberCash and a $20 purchase the $5 can be charged to any card you want, not just Amex) Also, the Cash expires at the end of each month. I have not experimented with how this stacks with non-Amex Uber Cash. Like if you have $15 Amex UC and $10 normal UC == $25 UC. Then make a $20 purchase == $5 left over. In this case is that $5 from Amex and expires at month end or is it normal UC and stays? Who knows but I don’t take that chance and I use my cash every month. Cash can be used on Uber rides or Uber Eats.

Nice, good to know EY1

I think you just add your Amex to Uber, or maybe link it another way initially. Then you just use the Uber app like normal and it’ll show 15 bucks in credits monthly as Uber cash

When you add your card to Uber, $15 is credited every month. You don’t have to use Amex as your default card

When you get a rental car, what do you do to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of for some bogus issue/scratch that’s already on the car? Take pic/video before, tell the checkout person of any issues (although this can be hard especially if at a smaller airport & you get the keys in the airport and there’s no gate when you leave), buy the rental insurance? If you have a card that covers rental cars (CSR, Amex Hilton) do you decline rental insurance and use the card benefits?

Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?

Haven’t had my nails done since pre Covid. My cuticle are grown out, it’s bad and I’m scared to go to salon. But I have an event in less than two weeks. I am afraid they’ll push and cut my cuticle and I’ll get a million hang nails. Should I go twice in two weeks and ask them to ease into it. Or should spend first week prepping my nails/cuticles and then get them done right before the event? I am not good at doing my own nails.

I’m so sick of politics and people politicizing things that don’t need to be. This is the perfect time for a new political party to come out called the “I hate politics, let’s just” party (pun intended). Instead of blue or red it’ll be colorless. It’ll just include normal f-ing people who meet in the middle to agree on things and avoid drama. People will stop posting polarizing political posts with misinformation, and just post about normal things. Illegitimate news outlets will have less fuel.
