For those with an HSA, what docs do you keep for your current medical expenses so that you can cash them out later? Is it the receipt? Is it the bill? What is the best way to store those to keep them organized so you have them in the future?

I’m keeping an excel spreadsheet download from my health insurance provider. Not sure if this is considered adequate or not.

I just have a folder on my google drive with all receipts (itemized and when i pay it) as well as a google sheet to keep a running total of expenses. It is easy to just take a picture of my backup using my phone whenever I have time. I also am banking my expenses so it is super important I keep them for way more than 7 years.

If you have BofA HSA they have a MyHealth app to capture all receipts

MedReceipt is another app I have as well

I haven’t been touching my HSA since medical expenses have been pretty low (around $200/yr) and figured I’d let it grow. Does anyone else do this or am I missing something? Basically I just think it would be more beneficial to leave money in there for later years.

Yep I do this too. I max it out every year (and even bank expenses since I have the cash in the present day to cover my small medical expenses). Just make sure youre investing some instead of just keeping it in cash. I keep $2k in cash and invest the rest. I am using my HSA as part of my retirement strategy

I’m realizing I have a lot of fear—mostly related to health stuff and death. Feel like people are getting sick left right and center (not talking about covid). I’ve never had anyone close to me become very sick or die—don’t know what I would do if this happened. I’m also overly concerned about my health and seem to be at the doctor every month to get something checked. Can anyone relate or provide suggestions on how to overcome something like this?

I FINALLY have a start date for IVF STIMs 11/5 and my company is requiring us to RTO on 11/1. I’ve expressed concerns and have asked to extend WFH for a period of time due to medical necessity (if I get sick, the cycle is cancelled and I’m out $$$$ and my sanity) but HR is asking me and my doctor to fill out forms that essentially say I’m unwilling to get the vaccine, which isn’t true. Does anyone have advice on how to handle? They’re saying this is the only form that’s applicable.

The times when I have been able to actually meet his expectations and give him the deliverable for review, he will get back to me with comments at least a week later. Sick of these false deadlines. So, super weird question: Others often consider me the "smartest person in the room" but I love being challenged and called out when I'm wrong. Is this weird? Is there a term to describe this (other than obnoxious)? Asking here because for some reason in our culture it's super taboo to talk about how smart we are and we're all supposed to pretend we're less intelligent than we are too avoid looking arrogant or making others feel inferior.

I am nervous to talk to him about this as I feel that he may not like the idea. He manages all of our finances currently including investments
