It's not a limit on what can be in there, it's a limit on how much will earn interest, so you don't have to withdraw if you don't want to.

To clear this up. You can have a balance of over $100k and earn interest. It’s just up to $100k.

Was the 99k this quarter or last? If the latter, take out a couple grand and you’ll be fine, but you’ll need to increase your contribution in order to keep playing the game. If the former, you’ll need to take a hit (0%) next quarter, and build back up.
I’m sure you can (or someone has) modeled out the most efficient way to contribute/withdraw. For me, I’m simple, so I contributed like $96k last quarter, and $200/paycheck since and plan to withdraw enough (to stay over the 20%) to get me back around $97k at the end of this quarter and will rinse and repeat.

Crap, flipped the former and latter in my response.
Interest earned for the quarter appears to count towards the “inflow”. So you’d be able to take 80% of that out, but that likely wouldn’t be enough to keep you below the threshold for long, as you’re earning around $250/mo.
At some point, you’ll need to take a 0 interest hit in a quarter to reset, if you don’t want to keep a balance above 100k.

In weird spot. I have a side hustle and love it. The spouse? Not so much. In fact, it often causes many arguments and the lack of support is stressful.

Recently, years of hard work paid off w/ a production deal. I should be excited, but the first thing she asked was how much $ I was planning on sharing? I was always planning on taking us on a trip and putting money down on a home, but this entitlement feels wrong. Especially since its not something she supported in the first place.

I have been a Sr Product Manager/PM/PO for over 15 years, and I am finding it impossible over the last few years to find a role with an organization that actually uses Product management concepts regardless of how many PMs/Directors of Product they have. My current company just hired a VP of Product Management to whom I had to explain the differences between strategic and tactical work.
Does anyone have any ideas of different careers I might try outside of PM work?

How do I approach this with my current employer? I have this feeling they will take it as me trying to corner them. Do I bring up the interviews or wait until an offer is on the table?

Tax question! (Massachusetts)

I just started a new job. From my old job, I would like to convert my prior 401k balance of $25k into a Roth IRA and then roll it over. I understand I would need to pay taxes for this.

Two questions:
1) How much in taxes would I need to pay?
2) Do I have to pay any early withdrawal for the conversion from 401k?

Wouldn’t it make sense to buy Slack stock tomorrow? I read an article that Slack shareholders will receive $26.79 in cash and 0.0776 shares of Salesforce for each Slack share owned. With Salesforce’s after hours price at $229.75, that means Slack shareholders would receive $26.79 + (229.75*0.0776) = $44.62. Though Salesforce stock can continue dropping, with Slack’s after hours price at $43.56, it seems like investors can earn over $1 per share by buying tomorrow. Am I missing something?
