How is RSM PTO? Understand it’s unlimited, which limits more than accrued, but any insight on what you like/dislike?
Hi Fellow Fishies,
I am reaching out because I was recently contacted to interview for Cigna Provider Engagement Development Program. I wanted to see if I could connect with anyone on here that I can help give a breakdown of what this program entails, day-to-day, and WLB. Any tips on the interview and interview process for anyone working in this position? I would be truly grateful for any help or information that can be provided!
I have 2 years of experience in SAP HANA, SAP BUILD, Resource Management, Incident Management, Business Analysis, Failure Mode Analysis, Client Communication, Recruitment and Presentation skills. Is there any opportunity across here? Currently I am also a student of Psychology (distance learning course) with major in organizational psychology from IGNOU, New Delhi.
Idk how, but I got the offer. Still wondering if it’s real (it’s been 30mins since the phone call) because I thought I performed so poorly. I wouldn’t have passed myself. I hope the interviewers didn’t make a mistake (accidentally mixed up evals for another candidate, or the call was meant for another candidate w/ the same name). I do want to thank the Fishbowl community though. So many of you took the time to share your experiences and encourage me. I couldn’t have done this without you.
Has anyone recently moved from Toronto GTA to Calgary. Just wanted some inputs on how the job market is and life in general. For context I have work experience in hardware tech sales and software sales (less than a year). Any specific industries and roles that are in demand.
FTM here. My 18 months old started daycare and we are doing a transition plan where we will do 2 days for 2 - 3 hrs each in week1, 3-4 hrs each for 3 days in week2 and 4-5 hrs for 3 days in weeks3 and week4. He has always been home with either me, my husband or grandparents so this is his first time being outside home. During his first day he cried for 2 hrs straight. When I went to pick him up he was standing in the room and crying where one teacher was teaching numbers and the other .. contd.
I’m a new consultant at Accenture working from home. Will they pay for my internet? Need to upgrade to a higher speed for work.
Does anyone know of places hiring mental health therapists near Milwaukee, WI or remote positions?
What do you enjoy about being a life science consultant? Do you feel you get enjoyment out of your work? What don’t you like? I really want a career where I can learn about multiple disease landscapes/projects and ultimately feel like I am somehow improving things for patients/HCPs/producers. Is this a right fit?
My boss had a meeting with me 3pm Friday about some new tasks, no deadline given. I’m the only one staffed on this project.
Today, he suddenly comes back to me on a Monday expecting it to be done and ready to go since they’re the ones who are apparently “ready to send it off”.
My messenger also consistently pings ALL weekend. Nothing related to the project though. Ended up muting it to enjoy my time with my family.
… um… boundaries? Deadlines maybe??
About to quit to be a fortune teller.
Just had to put the family dog down after 13 years. Didn’t think it would hit this hard 😭
Hi! As a novice when it comes to understanding optimal fund allocation, would you guys please let me know your thoughts on my 401k allocation and any suggested adjustments? Thanks!

I'm looking for Referrals for Talent Acquisition Position having 1 year experience.
(1/2)Has anyone ever had their contract end early with no warning? I was hired as an “agile social designer” for a big box retailer as a freelancer. The gig posting said it was a couple months (until the end of june) but when I interviewed they said they were actually gonna extend me until next February. Anyways now they’re saying the whole agile team may be eliminated and I didn’t get any new work assigned this week… I’m kind of freaking out bc I thought I’d at least have until next month.

Looking for some insight from Senior Associates at Husch. My friend just started there and absolutely loves it so far, and I’m considering trying to lateral over to their commercial RE section from a small-midsize RE boutique in TX. But, I’m trying to get more info from people who have been there longer (at least a year or so) w/r/t WLB, fully remote options, workload, expectations from partners, etc. Any feedback is appreciated!

Which books would you recommend to a product counel for tech startup about strategy, management, and leadership?
Anyone else take the bar exam after practicing for a while? I took another state bar this past July and just remembered that I get my results tomorrow. Now I’m all distracted and worried I failed. Sometimes I really hate our profession 🙄
What do you do when you follow a partner’s instructions to the T, but they end up criticizing your work product and by extension your competency? Do you politely push back or just take it?
I’m starting at a new firm this week and am wondering what items you all consider to be essential to keep in your office (ex: spare shirts/shoes, toothbrush, etc)?
I am a post bar graduate and currently seeking employment. I did not graduate from a top tier school, but I did graduate in the top third of my class as a dual-degree graduate. About a week ago, a partner at a big law firm connected with me on LinkedIn. He asked if I had a job lined up. I told him no and he responded that I should let him know if there is anything his firm or he can do to help me. We have a meeting with each other in two weeks. Is this a big law opportunity?
I’m interested in taking on a Pro Bono case through a nonprofit org, so should I disclose that I’m taking the case to my current employer (in house)? The case has no overlap with the field my company is in and I’ll be doing the work off the clock.
To experienced attorneys at large employers, has anyone tried starting a small side practice in a different area of law (wills & trusts, for example) and succeeded in building it out over time? Notwithstanding my present employer being happy/okay with this, curious as to the feasibility when I have no real experience in the practice area.
Would like a separate law-related side hustle to potentially build into my full time work down the road. Thanks.
ID Associates…how the hell do you reach your billable requirements? Just started at an ID firm and am lost as to how it’s possible when there is so much daily grind type work that you cannot bill for. Someone enlighten me.
My husband and I are considering a move from New York to Virginia in the next 3 years. I can waive into the VA bar but I’d be interested to know if anyone else has moved states and how difficult it was to reestablish your legal career. I’m currently licensed in New York and California and will have been practicing for 10 years by the time we move. Thanks!
That point on Sunday night where you didn’t get done anywhere near what you wanted to... so you convince yourself you’ll feel better if you just make a list of what you need to do Monday.
That moment when your "smart" plan to boost your hours this month by working the Labor Day weekend (thus turning down all the fun plans your friends made) becomes sitting on your hands & feeling dumb because all the partners are too busy to delegate anything. The worst kind of "off" day is one you planned to /wanted to work, but there's no billable work...
Can someone who switched from IP lit to tech transactions or some similar corporate position tell me how it’s going?
Question for Junior Associates, particularly from smaller firms (2-10 lawyers), Outer Suburbia office-Initial Compensation for a 2nd year associate in Family Law/ID - $80,000 salary, retirement benefit of 10% gross income paid by Firm, 75% of health (dental & vision too) insurance premium covered, bar dues, CLEs and Malpractice Insurance covered. Additional bonuses discretionary, 1250 billable hours expected - Fair or not? If not (again a firm 2-10 lawyers), why not? (DC/Baltimore Suburbs)
How do you track your time spent reading and responding to emails? I don’t want to run a timer each time I open outlook, but I feel like I’m losing hours of billable time every day to one-off emails that I would never individually bill for.
Anyone have a good response to RFP template/sample? Jury rigging something right now but, man, there has gotta be a better way.

I actually can’t understand the difference between them. I’m on pay as you earn.
PAYE (not REPAYE) is generally the best as you only pay 10% of your discretionary income each year, and they don’t take into account your spouses income when determining your loan amount if you file separately. It’s also 20 years as opposed to some 25 year plans.
My finaid advisor said PAYE is the best way to go
I think I might have switched once? But I would just check the box that said pick the lowest payment during the recertification process.
