For those working in AML/financial crimes, what are typical salaries at your firm for senior consultant and manager levels? I’m a SC now with 4.5 years experience (some very specific)

Making 126 in a major market. Second year as manager. In short, underpaid for peer group.

like

Depends on location, but $115-140ish for manager

When I had 4.5 years experience, I was in my first year as a senior associate, MBA & CAMS certified, and was making about $90k. This was about 4 years ago though and I’m sure it would be more now. Currently, as a 3rd year manager with now over 8.5 years experience, I’m making about $140k. By the way, this is in NYC

Which firm?

Depends on location, I’m in the South and as a manager 1 make $105

Ouch. I make more than that as an SC but I’m learning that there are Ms that make less than me. You’re in the south though so lower COL (and better weather)

In a Tier 1 city making 135k as a manager.

Looking from the outside in, you guys do much better than I do in Tax! Major city in Texas here. Considering moving groups, fraud and forensic seems very interesting. My degree is in criminal justice but ended up in Tax after 10 years in industry doing tax work

AML does very well for a lot of reasons that I can think of. We definitely make more than forensic. Fraud is not part of traditional AML.

Anyone done work on AML risks for companies accepting crypto payments?

I have seen a bunch of individuals from forensics leave for law school. Anyone know what the process is like, GPA/LSAT scores, etc. I have been rolling around the idea for a while now

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

Hi All! I’m currently working as a Business Risk Supervisor for a large audit/consulting firm but considering switching since my firm doesn’t have a large fraud and forensics presence. Does anyone have any recommendations on firms to look into? I’d also be open to speaking with someone in the industry to get an idea of what to expect. Thanks!

what does EY hire manager 1s at in tier 3 cities? currently at $110K and hoping to land a role around $130K. Or are they closer to the $110K to $120K range in LCOL/MCOL?

Seeking advice. Came into consulting late, after 8 YOE in federal gov. Hired on as a consultant despite exp, and spent last ~4 years in investigations/risk, first at fairly well-known mid-tier firm then a boutique. Twice promoted in that time, so now senior associate/director-level making ~150k TC. Others at my level are abt the same age, so I am almost ‘caught up’. Problem is I dislike the work, feel v burnt out & underpaid. Has anyone successfully exited this space? If so, how and to where? 🙏🏽

Any openings in third party due diligence/ background screening? I am also pursuing CFE. Thanks!!

Just began studying for the CFE exam. I have access to past editions of the ACFE Fraud Examiners Manual. Does anyone have recommendations on where to get good practice questions? I’d like to avoid spending a fortune on the ACFE kit.
