To further clarify I'm talking about schools like Yale Harvard Wharton ect.
Deloitte isn't that prestigious tbh
So what area/function does it make a difference?
Ok thanks, I never realized that Deloitte consulting was independent of the rest Deloitte.
To clarify is getting an MBA with that price tag worth it if I who went to a state school is being offered the same/similar position.
Commenting to follow this
Always go to an interview.
What function are you looking to get into?
I have no intention of leaving. I just had some calls from recruiters asking me to interview for an experienced audit position. Are employees in Deloitte from top schools paid a higher starting salary? What's the point at the end of the day if you're going to be working at deloitte
Yeah in audit there is no difference. Well your state school colleagues are better off because they're not crushed under student loans.
Maybe in consulting it might make a difference (although tbh I don't know what all consulting does) but if a client preferred someone with an MBA project then obviously could be beneficial. But yeah in audit it would have no benefit like D2 said. Only certification they care about (to my knowledge) is just CPA.
That's a consulting associate salary, unrelated to audit. (In consulting an associate is like a manager because entry level is an analyst)
That's only Deloitte's consulting practice that's ranked pretty high. I don't think I've seen that many people from ivy leagues working in audit.
OP you're missing the point. The article was talking about Deloitte Consulting, which is right up there in the second tier of consulting shops behind McKinsey, BCG and Bain. They likely only hire from top 20 (maybe less) MBA programs. Whatever you are interviewing for in audit is something different.
I'm not sure their structure (if it's all under one umbrella or separate firms), but if they are talking about Top 20 MBAs they are talking about Consulting
Yeah this is just for monitor Deloitte. Even s&o isn't that high
