Everywhere I’ve ever worked no one read them. Do you have to submit one? If it’s optional I wouldn’t.

like

Some ask, but it’s the minority.

Always tailor things from a base template. But also never submit a cover letter unless required.

like

I never send cover letters

like

No cover letter. Tailor resume to job description (i.e. copy/paste job description as experience).

like

Tailored cover letter if you need to explain something on your resume or if they require one, otherwise none. I have been part of hiring in places where we were making the first cut in part based on cover letters as bizarre as it may seem

I’m considering applying for remote legal admin positions in addition to my current role (also remote, with flexible schedule). Do we foresee any issues with working two remote jobs, assuming no conflicts? How could I go about talking about my current role, if asked? It would be nice to have an extra income source, and since I work from home, I don’t see the time being an issue.

I currently work at a very ”hyped” food delivery tech company. I’ve been there for 1,5 years now, but the pay is low, bad company culture and I don’t feel appreciated for the work I do. So i’m overall not to happy there, and looking for a new job. However every interview I’ve had so far ask why I want to leave such a ”great” company after less than 2 years? I don’t want to shittalk my job but it’s really makes me feel like i should stay another 6m just so I don’t look bad. What would you do?

I’m in a small, close knit bar. I love my firm (not biglaw) and the people I work with but I really, truly hate billing hours. I am interviewing with a boutique firm that does not track billables and has a great rep for work/life balance. I’m excited at the prospect of more $ for less time, but will also feel guilty to leave my firm after they spent significant resources over the past few years “raising” me, only to lose me. Tell me I’m being silly and that this won’t burn bridges.

Level unlocked - A big4 partner who interviewed and grilled me for 45 mins said 'It doesn't feel like an interview cos I wasn't able to make you feel uncomfortable' Why am I posting this here - Motivation, fwiw. 4/5 months ago I was probably the most awkward, anxious non native interviewer. Got a McK interview, practiced like never before, failed the final round due to anxity/casing eff ups. Although I failed, gained lot of confidence and have been flying thru tier 2/b4 interviews since.

I started working in a agency two months ago, and I have two very big projects running simultaneously. My Creative Director left for paternity leave, and left me with all the work, facing the client, going to shootings, editing. I've been working 15 days straight, no weekends. The agency hasn't given me any back up/someone I can team up with to do the job. Is this normal? I'm used to have a partner, a copywriter or another creative working alongside. Keep in mind that I'm mid-level.
