Found a most enlightening work on decolonial history with tons of TIL moments especially about Anti Colonial movements in Egypt, China, Japan and course India in the 19th and 20th centuries. Most histories this period often adopt a Euro-centric lens but this book flips it and tells the stories of these turbulent times from the vantage point of the pioneering Asian leaders like Tagore, Al Afghani, Kang Youwei etc. Lovers of Asian history would surely appreciate this book

So I’m on a milk donation group because donor moms (love them!) have helped with milk for my baby. Of late I see a lot of posts as below - def okay with personal preference of the donor meds and vaccines but each person spells it out differently like “no c v*x” etc. is this a thing? I feel like they’re addressing lord Voldemort

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.

As a parent, do you prioritize making career choices that are “safe” but not inspiring, or do you prioritize making the choices that are less safe but help you realize your full potential? I’m faced with such a choice, and while I’m fine with my safe job, I get stuck on how to explain myself to my daughters someday because I feel I’d want more for them. I feel a lot of pressure to model the right thing for them, especially as a same sex parent - anyone else?

Hi folks,
I have 3 offers -
Born group offering me a lead role with 23 lpa
Epam offering me a senior dev role with 25 lpa
IBM offering me a manager role with 30 lpa ...

The decision looks very clear where many are suggesting to go with IBM but still from other aspects like WLB, hire/fire attitude, culture, growth etc what is recommended? For me being a mother WLB takes priority since I have quite a few family responsibilities ...

About to be a first-time father. My wife is taking a break from nursing to be a stay-at-home mom for a while when our child is born and said she'll get up at night to take care of him. I want her to have a happy and healthy recovery though, so I don't want her to be up all the time if our baby happens to cry a lot.

Was the snoo helpful for anyone? There's a sale and I'm thinking of buying one as a surprise. Just want to be a supportive husband and father. Thanks!

Serious question- how on earth do first time parents pick out things for a registry? Like if you haven’t managed your own child, how do you know if you like this carrier or that? This lounger or that? Do people just trust their closest friend/advisor and mimic their decisions? I’ve spent so much time reading the diff bw strollers (which clearly is the hardest decision) - bloggers, Buying Guides, etc- and my head is going to explode 🤯. Gift cards it is 😆

If it is a family, I prepare a family dinner and prepare the family table for all the people who would live in the house. Making them feel at home before buying the house does not fail, what do you think? What other strategies do you use?
