Found a niche in my legal practice and have been giving presentations, doing client development and working hard to create a space for myself. My presentation. He self-admittedly does not have experience in the niche or any interest, but jumped at the chance to impress our department head. It’s the first time that my having a baby threatens to interfere with something at work I am carefully curating and now I feel like others are slowly pulling the rug out from under me. I don’t know how to maintain visibility while also taking maternity. I worked so hard for this and it feels like it is going to slip away…

Sorry to hear. Would it be wild to ask the presenter to give you credit? Doubt you can prevent the pres from happening tbf

Can your take a day during your maternity for the presentation and be a copresenter? Being a leader in your field might mean having to sacrifice complete DND during your maternity and being available once every few weeks for things like this.

They only want one of us to present. I offered to do this and was told it wasn’t necessary.

He shouldn’t have accepted. I would say no. It’s your work product and should he get business out of it ... will he share it with you?

Having my 1st baby and trying to figure out invites for the baby shower and could use input.

My SIL /MIL won’t host a family shower for me.
My mom thinks it’s tacky for her to host anything.

My friend is hosting a shower & told me to invite anyone I want. I’d like to invite family on both sides. I don’t want my friend to be stuck with the bill, so my hubby said he’d pay for it; my mom freaked out and said it’s like I’m hosting one for myself. She wants to not invite any family now.
