Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?
I have raised a laptop replacement TT but it haven't even dispatched & I'll be going back to Bangalore in 5days, so if the laptop doesn't get delivered to me before I go off to Bangalore, can i raise another TT & get it exchanged in the office??? Please help, if you know what can be done here !!! Amazon

McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).

If SM actually got fired for being toxic then they knew that for a while and if they knew that they would have promoted you. If they cared about retaining you with a toxic SM they would have promoted you and ignored whatever they did to derail you.
If GT knows all of that they should give you the promotion in order for you to stay

No one else had your back. They apparently knew this SM was a problem and still no one did the right thing by standing up for you. I’d be pissed and lose all respect and trust in others involved with the process, so would get out.

Are they matching your salary? You called the new job better, what makes it better? Will you receive those “better” things by staying at GT?
Ask them to pay off your student loans. See how much they want you to stay then.
If the other job is better, I’d only consider staying at GT if your goal is partner
I left EY for a CPA firm that pays base salary >20% above big 4. We get overtime if we work over 45 hours a week, travel bonuses up to 25% of base salary if we travel, profit sharing since there aren't a million partners to take all of the profits, and you get 3% of the client fees if you're on a client longer than 3 months. Plus, audit is optional. You can work in M&A, CFO advisory, treasury, reporting, etc. I'd never have those experiences staying at EY. Oh, and our trainings are in Vegas, not Secaucus.
