I recently returned to work after my second mat leave. Mine are 14 months apart. I had no issues with leave. I took 6 months mat leave then worked for 8 months and then took another 6 months of mat leave. My bosses were happy for me. I just ripped the bandaid off and told them pretty early on. I didn’t want them to totally transition off the project for me just to turn around and have to put them back on. It was hard to pick up work in the 8 months I was back but it was honestly nice because being pregnant and working with a baby is hard. Now I’m back and it’s like I was never gone

My kids will be 22 months apart so I’ll have worked about 15 months between maternity leaves. I just told them look I’m trying to complete my family ASAP so I can come back for good lol. Maternity leaves are disruptive no matter how long in between you take so I wouldn’t worry about it. Congrats!!
Will the babies be born more or less than a year apart?
Also how does it affect short term disability if it has been less than a year in between?
Sorry, but isn’t one instructed to wait at least 12 months between children, to ensure a healthy (and viable) next child?
KPMG- it can vary widely depending on age of mom and type of birth. For a C section, many OBs will say to wait for a year before trying to make sure the uterus fully heals and to reduce the risk of rupture. My OB also says to wait a full year before pregnant again regardless of type of birth. If mom had pre-eclampsia or other risks during pregnancy, Ob May recommend waiting. Talk to your OB about your personal situation for the best advice!
