Don’t feel pressure to say anything sooner than what you are comfortable with. Most women (from my experience) don’t announce until after 12 weeks. I announced at 20ish weeks with each of my pregnancies because I get genetic testing done.

Just sit on this information for a while. Thanks to WFH, it's super easy to keep a pregnancy hidden now, so enjoy that aspect. Tell them when you're ready and don't stress about it. A firm doesn't need 6+ months lead time to deal with your leave. People leave their jobs permanently and give just 2 weeks notice. If you give them a reasonable warning, it will get worked out. Congratulations!

Just here to say ... CONGRATS
It’s not like it’s something you hid from them! In 2020 my firm had three associates go on maternity leave all within two months of each other and the firm just dealt with it, everyone was very supportive. It was a lot of reshuffling but that’s what managing a firm entails. Just tell them when you’re comfortable - you’ll be totally fine. Congratulations!!
Congratulations! Such happy news. Handle it like you would anywhere. Wait until you are at least 12 weeks to announce (unless symptoms require you to divulge sooner, which can happen). Whenever you tell them is fine. Having babies is part of life. The part that makes it worthwhile. Most will be happy for you. Screw anyone who is not. Handle the leave professionally with a transition plan. All done. Enjoy your baby!
My coworker lateraled in September of 2019 and found out she was pregnant in March of 2020. She informed the PG leader in May and they had no problems with it! She was very open and being in litigation she was able to schedule some things around her leave and I took new matters that came in a month before she went out. She drafted a plan for the attorneys she had matters with detailing who could assist and her transition was pretty seamless
Congrats!!!
Congrats! Like everyone else is saying, it will be fine! By the time you're ready to tell them (at LEAST 3 months in, if not later) you'll have been at your job for 6 months and people won't be thinking of you as the new person anymore. It's nothing to feel guilty about -- people get pregnant! It's what makes the world go round! If you can poke around and see what experiences other women have had at your job when they've gotten pregnant, that might be helpful. But otherwise just don't stress and enjoy the happy news 😊

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wanted to say thanks to all for the kind and reassuring responses! I’m so grateful that women are doing such a wonderful lifting each other up in this industry. I really needed this, and I hope each of you has a slightly better day just knowing that you really helped me have one.
Congrats!! If you work somewhere that is worth working, they’ll be happy for you! We need some happiness in this remote year! I was pregnant as a first year associate- not quite the same- but everyone was so happy for me, no issues, etc. I definitely pre-panic spiraled and it was all for nothing. Good luck!
