Found out that I cannot go through with my GC process in EB1C as my international managerial experience is 364 days and I am falling short of requirements by 1 day. Has anyone faced this or heard of cases like these? Is EB2 my only option now??

Unfortunately yeah, USCIS is super strict about this

Dang lol, couldn't wait another week???

Better to go back and collect the experience for a month and come back!

has to be continuous i think

I am in the same boat.. just repatriated

It’s always advisable to aim for 400 days to avoid these issues. Better overshoot because USCIS will not make any exceptions event for one day.

I am planning to do same thing now. Spending more than a year. But, wanted check with you..I have not informed USCIS about my repatriation to home country. Will it be any problem if I come back to USA after one year and trying for EB1

Next week I’m having my first lateral interview as a junior associate. I’m very nervous because the group with whom I’m interviewing works with life science/tech clients and the attorneys have strong science/tech backgrounds; and I do not. However, I am very, very interested in transitioning to this practice. And I reaaally want this job because it’s at my dream firm. How would you recommend preparing for the lateral interview?

I am considering transitioning from being a W2 employee to a independent contractor/1099. What are some important questions I should ask before making a decision? For context, I have been with my litigation firm for just over 3 years and have been barred for 4. I am doing fine, but I dislike the job and would like to reduce my hours (and get rid of some of the non billable work I have to take on). Ideally, I would transition to a job that I love, but I’m not sure what that is yet. Cont. below.

A recruiter shared a salary band of 110-120 during an initial phone screen and I said it’s within expectation but didn’t commit to a number. However, if I get an offer, is it possible to negotiate after hearing the responsibilities of the position? I’d ideally like 125-135, but haven’t negotiated before. Appreciate any tips!
