"A colleague told me that through a manager indiscretion my ACD is making $xxx when I have more experience and responsibility and am making $yyy. This type of gender pay inequity is unacceptable. If they ask, say you want to keep the focus on your compensation. You don’t have to tell.

Yeah you can and should let them know. If you feel like your experience matches or surpasses that of your partner, you should definitely bring up the pay disparity. Doesn’t matter how you found out. There needs to be more pay transparency to ensure equal and fair pay. This old game is getting, well, old!

Fuck. This is still happening? I had this situation 30 years ago and went to management, asking them to please explain the discrepancy and why my less competent male counterpart was making so much more. I was “open to learning” their leadership and management style. Took 24 hours for a bonus and a raise—and eventually an agency stake.

Why do you need to disclose how you know? Maybe the acd told you. Who cares. Just talk about the facts. How you found out is irrelevant

Definitely bring it up but check your contract before name dropping your partner and their salary. Here we are told that "discussing salary is a fireable offense" 🙄 talk about shady

Put together a POV the way a good seller would based on YOUR value prop, experience and industry scale first...and ask for the raise or variable based on your contribution. If that doesn’t work address the disparity. Life isn’t fair so fight it by outsmarting them. Though I’m not agency side happy to help offline. Maybe a diff perspective will help you to bubble up you value which I’m sure is stellar! Always tie to biz value and what’s in it for them to compensate you properly. My boss told me it costs 3x salary to replace a high performer w re rioting costs, ramp, etc.

I personally think you need to be more general. and you explain what you think you are worth and that it's been brought to your attention that there are some people who may be getting paid more than you with less experience. At the end of the day ask for what you're worth. In addition you may not know the story behind why the utter person is getting paid more. You need to ammo yourself with what you've accomplished and what you're skill sets are

Agree it doesn’t matter how you found out. Bring it up ASAP and don’t dance around it. Also be clear about why you should be paid more.

What Publicis said. I can't imagine them asking you how you found out. But if they did, there are so many ways to spin it along the lines of it's not relevant to the issue and for preserving anonymity and protecting the source, you're not able to disclose that.

The belief that you should be able to move from HCOL to LCOL and not have to take a pay cut is ultimate in socioeconomic and geographic privilege and outright entitlement. Nobody is going to give LCOL a raise to move to HCOL. The work you do is the same, you produce the same value, bill the same rate as peers in another geography. Take a pay cut or give LCOL a significant raise.
