McKinsey & Company Has Mckinsey met BA headcount quota for the year/did they freeze hiring? I interviewed and got to last round last year, and applied again with a referral two months ago but havenβt heard anything from recruiting. Last year I heard back within 1 month of referral drop. I wouldβve thought with my 1 more year of experience I should be able to get an interview easily.π₯² McKinsey & Company

Redneck hillbilly? That's your view of white collar Americans?
Guess it's gonna get filled by a redneck hillbilly that had the good fortune of being born in the right country. We need immigration reform ASAP if we want to remain competitive with the rest of the world.
OFFENDED!! Redneck hillbillies would never elect this racist, orange, illiterate joke of a president.
Because it's part of the effort of Donnie T. to save jobs in American. Jobs. We're talking about jobs, jobs, and believe me, no one can save jobs better than I can. It's covfefe.
Not sure about the political part but all I can say is that EY Law is not doing their job besides the fact that this lottery system can decide someone's fate. I got the lottery but I am also about to loose it because EY Law filed inaccurate petition and I'm not the only one who is suffering. What's worse is that EY Law instead of correcting mistakes pushes to me for providing explanations. It wouldn't be like this if the lawyer didn't use PY filing work paper and only manually wrote 2017 on it. ππππππππππππππ wrong citizenship, wrong address, wrong degree, why bothering pushing us upload most recent documents when in fact they don't even use.....they just make every mistake they possibly could. If mine gets rejected, Sayonara EY and America
I'm assuming he didn't get selected for visa because my coworker had the same issue
Omg guys stop! it's not Trump's fault. You get the work visa if you win the HB1 lottery in May. Usually when you are done with college the government allows you to work for a year without this visa but on a OPT for 1 year (3 years if you have a STEM degree). During this time if your company sponsors your visa you are allow to try for the lottery. If you don't have a sponsor you can't partecipate and if you don't win you can't work more than a year (3y for STEM). The other option that people consider if they lose is to go back to your country, work for the same company, and usually after a year or two they can bring you back since you've been working for the same company abroad on a L Visa.
Is it because EY didn't sponsor or he wasn't lucky enough to get selected for visa?
Yeah, he didn't get selected. I think he didn't get selected couple of times before too. He has been in this country since forever. Undergrad, grad, EY
EY 1 doesn't get it.
I do now haha. And agree completely. Phuck trump
I'm sorry to hear that. I wasn't selected for the lottery either but I was eligible for STEM extension which I have not heard back..so if I don't get the extension I have to leave as well
Yes it absolutely has to do with the current administration... immigration attorney told me the number they allow changes by the political climate. Maybe that person wouldn't get selected, but the odds were better in the past. Trump also threatening to change the H1B threshold for sponsoring organizations to be for roles over $100k (I don't think he forced that through yet).
Not trumps fault, but just sad on the system. But something happened that all big4 stopped hiring international students. Don't know how true it is
Since when do "redneck Hill Billies" have degrees and CPAs π€ and end up at Big 4 accounting firms? EY 1, you are doing the same thing you criticize Americans of doing; stereotyping. Don't fuel the hatred. Be part of a solution.... our Jobs are Merritt based and require intellect. I'm sorry for the employee who didn't get his visa extended, but if his job is open it will be filled by a deserving legal Candidate regardless of Background/Race/Nationality/Gender/Party affiliation etc. FYI, There are many outstanding graduates lining up for interviews and facing rejection as well.
That's why the system is so messed up... politicians prey on fears and oh my, 'foreigners are taking our jobs.' Yet, as you said, the people who hear this and don't understand they aren't taking their jobs, are the ones who have no chance at them, but it's their political clout, or the politicians lack of action for various reasons, that keeps reform from happening. So the master of fear mongering is just adding fuel to the fire and we continue to have more jobs that can be filled; every client or prospect I have met need IT auditors. Rednecks better be trained quick!
Fucking joke if someone made it through undergrad give them citizenship, they want to produce and get fair wages, simple as that
