I have. Come in, get your work done, collect your day rate and pass go. It’s been great to just focus on the work and be removed from the run of the mill office politics. Not sure I’ll stay on this path, but if your feeling burnt out (in your current role or by the current state of the industry) this could be an option.
Project specific. Headhunter. Advice= optimize your LinkedIn profile. Include broad descriptions of your category expertise and clients (if you feel comfortable). I’d also plug The Mom Project and Second Shift. Great for maternity leave coverage opportunities. DM, if you want to keep the convo going
I have. Best bet is your existing network. Reach out saying when you're available and a blurb toplining your experience/expertise. Especially beginning of year when staffing plans are in flux but the work doesn't stop is a good time to score freelance work. In addition to what you mentioned like new business wins, maternity leave, product launch etc
I've also had freelance account help brought in on my accounts because of being temporarily swamped with a front loaded scope but not enough work for full-time position year round
I am currently. Agree about working your network. After my team was downsized I wound up contracting at the small agency where my former manager landed. I've known others who have been the agency's client side embed for launches and special projects.
For what it's worth I would encourage you to be really clear in what your needs are when you go down this path. Flex schedule? Health insurance? Working remote? Whatever it is make sure to make it worth it for you.
