Hi I work for a company full time but recently a UX design freelance opportunity came up. Client wants to create an initial mvp mock-up of their product. I’ve never freelanced before. Does anyone have good tips or references for contract templates, how/when to bill etc? Thanks!

After law school, I worked at a “boutique” law firm (i.e., a small law firm that paid like crap and worked you big law hours) and then moved in-house. I have realized that I now work the same hours as my big law friends, have much less job satisfaction than they do (yes, that is possible), and make less money than they do. I'm a new first year associate, almost two weeks in. Have to ask: is it normal to have almost no idea what's going on? I know my teams view me as completely clueless (which is 100% accurate), but whenever I ask for an explanation/they go over something with me, I'm still left feeling like they're speaking a different language. It’s my birthday this weekend. I am in a new city, don’t have any friends here, and separated from the boy I moved here for. I had weekend project work planned to keep my mind off the fact that I’m alone. But the work just got cancelled.

Dubai people I live in Marquise Square tower and my neighbor is having a party literally every day till 4-5 in the morning- I spoke to him and he apologized and promised to keep it quiet but he didn’t. So I spoke to the security if they can tell them to calm down and the security said that he can’t do anything as it’s the weekend! Is that normal or should they give me a noise compliance and force him to stay quiet after some time.
