I laughed this week because my adorable 6lb yorkiepoo loves to play ball. We accidentally threw it once into an empty Amazon box, which is taller and bigger than him, and watched for 20 min in amusement while he pawed, clawed and finally managed to jump inside to retrieve his soul mate. Adorable!

I support this in theory but can’t think of a funny or uplifting story from my week so this post is having the opposite of the intended effect.

Aww. No worries. I'll post another one next week and hopefully you'll have something then. The hope is that this effort makes folks more mindful during the week to take a moment of gratitude for something nice occurring in their week, in anticipation of hopefully sharing it on Fridays.

One perk of WFH is I can cry without having to hide in a bathroom. Maybe I’m PMSing but just feeling really unwanted rn. Don’t have friends or work colleagues that seem to care about/like me. Like is there something genetically about a person that can make them unlikeable? I just don’t understand what’s wrong with me as a person. I have an SO and family that love me very much but I need the external validation and I’ve never had that. Just gonna be in my feelings the rest of today.

Hypothetical that I'm trying to quantify for myself. Say I make $100k and feel I can comfortably spend $2k on rent. Assume for arguments sake, I'm happy at this level with savings, social life, etc. I get a raise to $120k. What can I now afford in rent? A) $2.4k. I got a 20% raise, so I can spend 20% more in rent. B) $3.6k. I got a $20k raise, so I can spend $1.6k (rounded) more in rent. C) Somewhere in the middle Traditional thinking tells me A is correct, but it seems conservative.
