Context: in my previous gig I focused on strategy & I didn’t feel like Ms were being pushed to make sales all the time, but I was further away from that level. In my current (staff aug) gig, leaders seem to focus less on assessing whether the client really needs us/ how we can help, and more on making a sale. Today, I got another offer from a startup of 160k base pay and stock options worth 440 k.

Need some advice on my next career move. I'm 31, have an MBA and am currently a SC in Risk Advisory with no M&A experience. I am good at risk consulting work but don't find it very challenging or interesting. That said, I expect to get promoted to M next year.

Recently, I interviewed with another Big 4 firm for SC in CDD M&A team and have got an offer. I enjoyed doing the CDD case study, and I believe I'd do well in the role.

Does it make sense to start afresh in M&A at this stage?
